HELP ME FIND A BOOK I READ IN 2018

Hi everyone! I’m looking for a book I read in 2018 when I was in middle school. I remember the protagonist was a boy who lived with his parents. The story was set in a city (but I’m not sure which one), and the boy would hide in a junkyard or a similar place where cars were being scrapped. There was also a police officer who kept an eye on the area.

At times, the book had a mysterious and somewhat dramatic tone, with the boy getting into trouble and, at one point, fulfilling a wish that I think was related to improving his financial situation. I remember the cover being red and black or blue and black, but I’m not sure.

Does anyone recognize which book I’m talking about?


Ciao a tutti! Sto cercando un libro che ho letto nel 2018, quando ero in seconda media. Ricordo che il protagonista era un ragazzino che viveva con i suoi genitori. La storia era ambientata in una città (ma non ricordo quale), e il ragazzo si nascondeva in una discarica o in un posto simile dove venivano rottamate delle auto. C’era anche un poliziotto che sorvegliava il posto.

A tratti, il libro aveva un tono misterioso e anche drammatico, con il ragazzo che combinava delle marachelle e a un certo punto realizzava un desiderio, che credo fosse legato a migliorare la sua situazione economica. La copertina che ricordo era rossa e nera o blu e nera, ma non sono sicuro.

Qualcuno sa di quale libro sto parlando?
