Adam walks into the room with a bruise starting to form over his eye. Max can't help but smirk slightly at the sight of it

Max holds her hand somehow even tighter. He want to tell her it will be okay, that he loves her but that would just make it even harder for them both

He keeps his eyes locked to the ground, trying not to laugh at how stupid it was. Or cry. Or punch Adam as hard as is humanly possible
