Same! We’re reading book 3 over on Quill Questers.
Started this one today. Haven't gotten very far, but should finish up at work tomorrow.
I did feel let down by the mystery part. I didn't get why they cared, or why I should care..I would have much preferred a more dangerous, intelligent antagonist and some more grit and suspense, but I loved this couple so much I'm just happy to tag along with them.Having a character with a fear of touch is such an interesting choice, and I loved she didn't rush into a miraculous healing. She's giving the couple space to develop through the books and I love that.
I'm only up to where they both purchased subscription to the newspaper.I'm already rooting for them to be together.
Why couldn't this end in 2, 5, or 0?I had to give it a scan, and found 51 points, and it's a re-read....even if I have forgotten it.
Maybe they will interigate someone or something else.

I really like when a series follows the same characters, and the relationship builds. I don't need to jump to a HEA. As long as their is progress in the relationship I'm happy.
Should get round to this one this week ..i need to pick some shorter books next month 😄

Tallus is so good for Diem , he knows exactly when to back off . Do we know Tallus's back story , hes obvs had problems with his dad as well , cant remeber if it said i the last book ..
Also, im presuming Valor or Doyle admired Tallus at some points ..naughty, naughty !!
Well i must admit to not guessing the murderer, but once i found out , it was a bit preposterous. I definitely enjoyed the focus on their relationship rather than the mystery

Yes, we got the same location task for Amazing Race so choosing Canada. Got 48 hours to read both and they're not short 😂 I also have two full days of work but fingers crossed it's quiet. It's very annoying to have to stop reading to do my job and talk to customers.

I can work and listen. At least until everyone else arrives.
Tomorrow I'll be doing something mindless, Looking for all the missing time punches on peoples time cards. So I'll be able to knock one of them out tomorrow morning no problem. But I'm hoping to finish the first one tonight.
Whoo...Bonus! Adding Power of the Mind means I'll have buddy reads on all 10 books this month. Nice!

Hubby makes me flavored coffee and delivers it to me at work. Super sweet. No peanut butter cookie though. Diem always remembers the cookie.
I relate to these two. My husbands grumpy and gruff, and sometimes an asshold. But he brings me coffe perfectly made 2x a day. Weird things I find romantic. I know I'm weird.
I haven't bout toliet paper in years. It just magically appears in my house.
My son today brought home garlic sause from little cecars, to dip his dads homemade pizza in. Right now he's watching videos on how to make a copy cat version of that sause.
That's how he shows romance.
That's how Diem shows romance. Tallus might have to push his boundries for physical. But Diem automatically antisipates Tallus needs and tries to provide for him.
The manipulation case, idk. A little weird, but kinda fun. And a great reason for Diem and Tallus to spend time together.
What a perfect ending. And props to Nick J Russo. His voice performance is incredible.I didn't like the mystery story line in book 1 but this one was fun. I don't know how Diem can afford to spend so much time on cases he's not being paid for, but at least they saved lives.

🤣 love is never having to buy toilet paper.
I never buy toilet paper because for some reason, though my 41 year old partner and his brother have good jobs, they always steal bags of toilet paper from their parent's garage. I don't know if this is a Chinese culture thing but their parents always buy bulk because they know most of it will go missing. That and rice. Anything else he'll say 'im running to the shop', but if he needs rice it's 'I'm running to my parents'.
Just reading a short palate cleanser then will start Reading Between the Lines after work. Skye are you thinking facing biggest fear - fear of touch, emotional vulnerability? We might even see him stand up to his dad. I feel like the 'I already know I'm going to kill him one day' comment in book 2 was hinting at shit hitting the fan.
It might be misdirection but the dad is super suss. My money is on him having something to do with it.
Diem used the word boyfriend, voluntarily. He's come a long way.
What about the hugging and nipple play! I love Tallus's brutality. 'It wasn't the best sex I ever had, not even close'. 😂 Poor Diem. Diem better blow Tallus's mind by the end of the series. I need to see the words 'Best. Sex. Ever.' to make up for this attack.
Just finished.Idk if this was the end of the series. It could very well be the last book. I hope it's not the end.

Got an hour left of the audio which I'll need to finish tomorrow.It's not the end of the series though. Book 4 is out in September 😁
I'm pretty sure dad isn't involved now but he's still an ass talking to his grieving wife like that 😒
One thing I have a problem with is Diem is obviously in love with Tallus but Tallus never talks about his feelings for Diem, he seems more interested in playing detective.
