Hi Pamela! I sent you a friend request so we could discuss further and I can answer any other questions you might have. I would love the opportunity to work with you on this project.
1) I typically work in a cloud-based document so I can point to specifics in the writing and you can follow along with my beta read or interact with my comments, but would accept a PDF if what you're looking for is just the overall thoughts on the story, theme, and character.
2) If you are strictly looking for overall and no detail feedback - I will provide you with a reader report, but please also provide a questionnaire/checklist because it is important to me that I'm taking into consideration the feedback that you are looking for. If you are also interested in some detail feedback within the document (grammar, punctuation, character and plot development) I will also follow with a reader report.
3) At my stated price, the read for your manuscript would be $122 but that is based off a combination beta read, developmental editing, and line editing. I would be able to begin the read at the beginning of June, as I have a couple projects first but would immediately reach out if I was ready to start before then.
4) I would be willing to sign an NDA, provided I read it first.
Looking forward to hearing from you!
Thank you for clicking on my post!
I am a very enthusiastic reader who has a passion for literature, editing, and discussing everything writing. I love talking about writing, organizing information, and helping writer's to find their voice to create work that showcases their vision and talents.
I can help writers with specific
feedback in grammar,
sentence structure/flow,
character/story descriptors
general feedback on plot, character development, and overall story development.
My feedback style is generally in comments within a document so that I can be specific with questions and suggestions that encourage the development of details or story development as well as pinpoint sentence level suggestions to provide clarity for your readers. I will make grammatical suggestions in a different color throughout the document but will never make direct changes to your work because I believe that it is important for you, as the writer, to have complete autonomy over your work and it is your story to tell.
I will also provide a follow-up email or document attachment upon conclusion with my overall impressions, plot clarity, and patterns that I see. Although, I am willing to cater to your style of feedback that works best for your writing process.
In addition, I think it's really important to acknowledge what writers do well in addition to providing feedback and suggestions when editing and beta reading. It takes a lot of courage to write a book and tell your story so I think that should be celebrated! In my spare time I can be found teaching ice skating or tutoring in AP Language and Literature so I have learned that there are many ways to get a point across and everyone learns and interpret differently which I try to bring to my editing style/process.
My fee is .0015 per word and I generally have about a 1 week turn around time. If I need more time I will actively communicate with you. My fee is centered around line editing, developmental editing, any grammatical things that I see along the way, as well as anything else you specifically ask me to pay attention to. I will pay attention to consistency throughout your plot, actions of characters, fact checking, and word choice (syntax). I am very thorough with my work and take great care in the development of stories. I am available for discussion throughout my time beta-reading and a few days following as I believe discussion and communication is the best way to develop ideas! If this sounds helpful - leave a comment, send me a message via Goodreads or email me jneumie4@gmail.com.
