Happy May! For this month's Book of the Month, we'll be reading comics with POC creative teams (writer and/or artist). There's certainly no shortage of incredible picks you could read this month!

Do you have any recommendations for others? What did you end up reading? Tell us all about it!

The BotM episode will drop on May 28th!

Evilblacksheep | 85 comments I guess I'm gonna read more Aya because your pick for last month's challenge made me wanna go back to it. Possibly also more from The Arab of the Future too.

I recommend March: Book One (and book two, and run) if anybody still hasn't read it!

Jay Goldner | 1 comments Brand new to IRCB but what about Pornsak Pichetshote? He's got some great stuff like The Silver Coin and Good Asian and just came out with Man's Best!

Ed Erwin | 325 comments I did enjoy his Infidel.

And from message 2, I also really enjoyed The Arab of the Future.

For myself, I guess my pick for the month was The Boy Wonder by Juni Ba, which I liked quite a bit even though I'm not big on superheros. May say more later.

Chad | 1394 comments I ended up reading Johnny Geronimo: Art of Darkness. It's a crime noir set on a reservation written and illustrated by Native Americans and published by the University of New Mexico Press back in March.

Nancy | 174 comments I suggest Lunar New Year Love Story by Gene Luen Yang & Leuyen Pham, The Talk by Darrin Bell, The Many Deaths of Laila Starr by Ram V & Filipe Andrade, Earthdivers: Kill Columbus by Stephen Graham Jones & Davide Gianfelice and Victory. Stand!: Raising My Fist for Justice by Derek Barnes & Tommie Smith. All are excellent!

Jessica (juicica) | 41 comments I'll be reading Spider-Man: India - Seva by Nikesh Shukla. Picked up Spider-Man: India (2023) #1 at the local comics shop recently and really enjoyed it. Looking forward to reading the rest.
