Rachel N. | 2248 comments This book contains recipes based on dishes mentioned in the Nero Wolfe books. I like that at the beginning of most of the recipes there was a blurb from the book that mentioned that particular dish. The edition I have also has pictures of New York from the 20's which was a nice touch. Most of these dishes are far too elaborate to be something I would ever make. Got to hand it to Fritz, the cook in the book, for spending so much time on the meals. Overall a fun read if you are a fan of this series.

Theresa | 15630 comments I own a copy of this book! Bought when it was first published in paperback. I also have a few other cookbooks related to book series - and not just mystery. I enjoy them and find them fun. Some actually include a short story or two written just for the cookbook.

There is one I bought for a friend but did not buy for myself - it' was back when I'd just graduated from college and had no extra money. Now of course it is long out of print and sourcing it is spending for more money than I currently want to do. I'm supposedly named in my friend's will to get her copy! Should I live so long.

What one is it?

The Lord Peter Wimsey Cookbook. The shepherd's pie recipe in it is fabulous - and I actually have a copy of it (my friend copied it out for me). Another reason I don't spend the $$$ to get it - I don't like the series or Lord Peter Wimsey! I do find Dorothy Sayers fascinating though.
