Jordan | 20 comments I just saw a tiktoks about how awful lightlark is. I've heard of the book/series but is it really as awful as people keep saying it is?

message 2: by ella (new)

ella | 2650 comments I really liked it I rated it 5 stars I believe. there's been a lot of discussions of this book already but that's okay. I don't have tik tok but it's honestly just personal preference.

ella | 2650 comments I feel like every book that people have mentioned on tik tok everyone hates but I usually like every book I read

Gabriella୨ৎ | 81 comments I feel like the series was either a love or hate for people. I personally didn't really like Lightlark, I felt like it was slow and sort of lacked plot. Though I really enjoyed Nightbane and thought Alex's writing improved a lot. And then Skyshade was more romance than plot.

You should give it a try if you haven't read it, and if you don't end up enjoying it, that's totally fine.

Kat ⋆.˚ ☾ .⭒˚ (katburgess) 100% personal preference. I would see if you can get a preview of some pages, see if the writing style is for you

izzy (izphilocalist) | 97 comments isn't lightlark the book people accused the author of copying red queen?

Gabriella୨ৎ | 81 comments No, that's Powerless. Although I read both and they are nothing alike.

marla | 27 comments i am reading Lightlark right now and I am liking it so far

✦˚☾₊✧Jasmine✧₊✩˚✦ (jasherondale14gmailcom) | 384 comments I rate it a solid 4 stars. Honestly it's not nearly as bad as ppl say it is

Pal | 45 comments l didn't hate it, it was slow paced and a bit confusing but not that bad and I think it might get better I'm not yet reading nightbane but I will soon

julia | 47 comments I kinda hated it ngl, also I found a 7.5 hour long video shitting on lightlark which is kinda funny, and it points out how many plot holes there are in inconsistencies in the world-building etc. A lot of people like it though, personally not me

message 12: by Ishy (new)

Ishy Bryan | 57 comments I enjoyed the books in the series so far and think I rated them all 4 stars! I rate more based on how a book made me feel and how much much the story/characters stuck in my head than the quality of the writing itself but it’s all personal preference

message 13: by Odette (new)

Odette | 3 comments I think it really depends on if you can read without over analysing the writing. There are a lot of inconsistency and odd phrasing but if you want a new fantasy to try it's pretty simple world building and easy to get into

jasmine ☆₊⁺🦢🪽₊⁺★ | 59 comments for me personally, it was my first ever fantasy book when i first started reading 2 years ago, and i loved it. it made me feel things i didn’t think i could, and now when i think about lightlark, it’s just nostalgic. also, i loved the concept of an island appearing every 100 years to host a deadly game. so, i would say it’s very good.

dyanna ୨୧ | 125 comments I enjoyed the first book kinda, but then I find out who she ends up with and got bored lol plus I didn't like the fanart. 😭 I know it's super petty reasons lol
