Also do you guys have any recommendations that are fast paced romance books?

message 6: by ♡Beth♡ (new)

♡Beth♡ | 13 comments I love a slow burn, but if you want something fast paced and a little spicy, Quicksilver is a great shout! The second book doesn't come out until November, so if you love it you'll have to wait for the second book 🤣

message 7: by Aja (new)

Aja L. | 3 comments I like slow burn IF there is good banter and tension ykkkkk

Breana Hardy | 3 comments A mix between the two

message 12: by BriiReads (new)

BriiReads | 1 comments It really depends on the book genre… horror/thriller slow burn romance and etc fast paced 🥹❤️

message 13: by Gohnar23 (new)

Gohnar23 I mostly prefer, not slow burns but slow enough to the point well it's not just constant action everywhere

okay, so we're all on the same page, what are some examples of fast burns and slow burns that we are thinking about? Cause ig in my standards I have only read like medium (not to fast not to slow). A good pace for romance for the book/series i have read

⋆☆TαƚҽɾTσƚ RҽαԃʂᯓCԋɾσɳιƈαʅʅყ Iɳʂαɳҽ☆⋆ (taylor_reese) | 25 comments @Phoenix depends. are you looking for YA romance or Adult romance?

message 16: by Phoenix (new)

Phoenix | 50 comments Mod
Umm, let's say YA romance

⋆☆TαƚҽɾTσƚ RҽαԃʂᯓCԋɾσɳιƈαʅʅყ Iɳʂαɳҽ☆⋆ (taylor_reese) | 25 comments Maybe Meant To Be by K.L Walther, Compass and Blade by Rachel Greenclaw

⋆☆TαƚҽɾTσƚ RҽαԃʂᯓCԋɾσɳιƈαʅʅყ Iɳʂαɳҽ☆⋆ (taylor_reese) | 25 comments Compass and Blade was more fast paced than Maybe Meant to be if I remember correctly

message 19: by Jabotikaba (new)

Jabotikaba | 5 comments As long as they're well written, I can read both slow burns and fast-paced books.

message 20: by Tariq (new)

Tariq Latif | 8 comments Is that even a question. Obv fast paced

Kortney | 3 comments Sloooow burn🔥
The tension is everything~😩

message 25: by Maroni (new)

Maroni Bochra | 7 comments slow burn ofc

message 26: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 2 comments Slow burn for me, a one I love is the trilogy "the Dark Materials" by Philip Pullman (the romance is definitely not the main topic btw so don't read it just for the romance)

message 27: by Kristina (new)

Kristina Kamaeva | 6 comments The Cruel Prince - good pace, lots of tension, plot twists, read it fast.
ACOTAR was very slow, many details I wasn't interested in.
Shadow and Bone was a good pace for me, interesting ideas, and I liked her writing style.
Harry Potter - I don't know how people read without skipping pages.
Every reader is different, some find The Cruel Prince and Bardugo's books boring and love ACOTAR!
For me writing style is more important than pacing :)

SunshineSmiles101 (kiwikid63) | 6 comments I guess it depends. I usually prefer action within two chapters or my concentration disappears. I get bored very easily.

message 29: by Eva (new)

Eva Frances | 1 comments I love a slow burn.... reading it, but especially writing it! 😍

message 30: by Nada (new)

Nada | 3 comments It depends on author’s technique my brain loves fast paced novels but there are novels slow burn that captured my attention too.

Kierra~God's Version~ | 11 comments I would say both it really depends

bailey (bibliophilebailey) i prefer a good middle, like sometimes a slow burn can just be too drawn out. sometimes fast-paced can be toooo fast and i'm like wait when did this happen? i like a book that is a good mix of both lol

message 33: by Olivia (new)

Olivia Gonzalez (osgonzalez) | 4 comments I am more of a prose-comes-first type of girlie lol; the writing style is more important than the book's pacing. If it's written well, it doesn't matter to me how the book reads

Generally speaking though, I like a medium paced book

message 34: by Gary (new)

Gary Feinstein | 2 comments For me it depends on the writing style. I like fast paced novels but not at the expense of character development. I do need some kind of conflict or tension though… even if it’s psychological

naima k | 3 comments for romance books, i like slow-burn better bc it adds more tension which i adoreeee

Grace :) ❤️🧚🏻‍♀️ | 22 comments Honestly, I love both :)

message 38: by Arimi (new)

Arimi Reads (arimireads) | 21 comments Need a mix or a multi pov. I get bored easy. if i can't focus on reading I'll get the audiobook and put it on 1.2 or 1.5 depending on the pacing. Just go about my business. Book has to be interesting though

message 39: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 2 comments Slow burn all the way for me, but I don't read romance only so maybe that's the reason. I read fantasy, horror, thriller as the main plot and I love a slow slow burn as a side plot. The tension, the trust and appreciation the main characters get slowly. If it is too sudden, I find it weird and not genuine. Six of crows, Pride and prejudice, the Cruel Prince are perfect for me.

message 40: by Sneha (new)

Sneha verma (_thatbibiogirl) | 4 comments slow burn girl!!!...just give me slow burn +epic enemies to lovers dynamics ,,it would be my day

✩ zahara ✩ fast paced, but if i will occasionally read slow burn if it is executed right xxx

message 42: by Kenzi Grace (new)

Kenzi Grace | 1 comments Fast paced for me. If you are into dark romance I loved Lights Out, but "If he had been with me" took me out of a 3 month reading slump.

✦˚☾₊✧Jasmine✧₊✩˚✦ (jasherondale14gmailcom) | 2 comments Slow burnnnnnn 🔥🔥🔥

⋆.˚✦ Mia ✦˚.⋆ (living vicariously through the mc) | 8 comments I like slow burn for romance aspects but for plot and action in like a fantasy book I like faster paced

𝓬𝓸𝓸𝓴𝓲𝓮 | 5 comments i luvv slow burn romances but for mystery and other genres i like fast paced

Grace :) ❤️🧚🏻‍♀️ | 22 comments 💯 fast paced :)))

message 47: by Deb (pms) (new)

Deb (pms) ~🌸 mostly off🌸~ | 7 comments Well done slow burn if it has a LOT of banter and other stuff going on so your not just waiting for them to get together and nothing else is happening

message 48: by ✧E l l i · R o s e✧ (new bio!!) (last edited Aug 22, 2025 09:08PM) (new)

✧E l l i · R o s e✧ (new bio!!) | 4 comments tbh…………I like it to be slow if its an intense , fantasy , leaves you haning book but if its like thriller or mystery , i lik to go fastt

message 49: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie Robinson | 1 comments I feel like if a book is well done both work for me. A slow burn with the right banter and tension. A fast burn with the right drag out to the end. If the author keeps me entertained then I'm hooked either way.

message 50: by Dre (new)

Dre | 2 comments I’m a slow burn girly, but sometimes a fast paced book slaps.
