Do yall prefer slow burns or fast paced books?
yass i enjoy fast-paced so much more than slow burn!! also, yeah, if anyone has any recommendations, please share
I love a slow burn, but if you want something fast paced and a little spicy, Quicksilver is a great shout! The second book doesn't come out until November, so if you love it you'll have to wait for the second book 🤣
I mostly prefer, not slow burns but slow enough to the point well it's not just constant action everywhere
okay, so we're all on the same page, what are some examples of fast burns and slow burns that we are thinking about? Cause ig in my standards I have only read like medium (not to fast not to slow). A good pace for romance for the book/series i have read
Slow burn for me, a one I love is the trilogy "the Dark Materials" by Philip Pullman (the romance is definitely not the main topic btw so don't read it just for the romance)
The Cruel Prince - good pace, lots of tension, plot twists, read it fast.ACOTAR was very slow, many details I wasn't interested in.
Shadow and Bone was a good pace for me, interesting ideas, and I liked her writing style.
Harry Potter - I don't know how people read without skipping pages.
Every reader is different, some find The Cruel Prince and Bardugo's books boring and love ACOTAR!
For me writing style is more important than pacing :)
I guess it depends. I usually prefer action within two chapters or my concentration disappears. I get bored very easily.
It depends on author’s technique my brain loves fast paced novels but there are novels slow burn that captured my attention too.
i prefer a good middle, like sometimes a slow burn can just be too drawn out. sometimes fast-paced can be toooo fast and i'm like wait when did this happen? i like a book that is a good mix of both lol
I am more of a prose-comes-first type of girlie lol; the writing style is more important than the book's pacing. If it's written well, it doesn't matter to me how the book readsGenerally speaking though, I like a medium paced book
For me it depends on the writing style. I like fast paced novels but not at the expense of character development. I do need some kind of conflict or tension though… even if it’s psychological

really let discuss i have something to share with you
Need a mix or a multi pov. I get bored easy. if i can't focus on reading I'll get the audiobook and put it on 1.2 or 1.5 depending on the pacing. Just go about my business. Book has to be interesting though
Slow burn all the way for me, but I don't read romance only so maybe that's the reason. I read fantasy, horror, thriller as the main plot and I love a slow slow burn as a side plot. The tension, the trust and appreciation the main characters get slowly. If it is too sudden, I find it weird and not genuine. Six of crows, Pride and prejudice, the Cruel Prince are perfect for me.
Fast paced for me. If you are into dark romance I loved Lights Out, but "If he had been with me" took me out of a 3 month reading slump.
I like slow burn for romance aspects but for plot and action in like a fantasy book I like faster paced
Well done slow burn if it has a LOT of banter and other stuff going on so your not just waiting for them to get together and nothing else is happening
tbh…………I like it to be slow if its an intense , fantasy , leaves you haning book but if its like thriller or mystery , i lik to go fastt
I feel like if a book is well done both work for me. A slow burn with the right banter and tension. A fast burn with the right drag out to the end. If the author keeps me entertained then I'm hooked either way.

Also do you guys have any recommendations that are fast paced romance books?
