kitkat (inked-pages) | 223 comments i get the majority of my arcs from netgalley! i've found that it has the biggest selection and is the most user friendly. i've also reached out to publishers directly in the past to get arcs as well. i've also tried websites like booksirens, valentine PR, and booksprout, but i found that i like netgalley better than those sites <3

⋆˚୨ৎ˚⋆ Kim ⋆˚୨ৎ˚⋆ (wikimpedia) | 457 comments I only use NetGalley! I think it’s the easiest platform to use, most books will be posted on there, and unlike other ARC/PR companies, there’s not necessarily pressure from NetGalley to only post reviews for books you rate at a certain rate or higher. I’m not the kind of person who’ll rate all my books high just because it’s an ARC; if the book was bad it’s getting a poor review, hands down. There’s no pressure from NetGalley to only post glowing reviews all the time which is great!

(I’ve heard stories of authors and other ARC companies who’ve reached out to their ARC readers telling them they’re not allowed to post their reviews if they didn’t rate the book at least 3-3.5 stars or higher, which is shady at best and illegal at worst.)

☆ 尺ノ丂 ☆ (I eat crayons *mwah*) | 316 comments i got this one arc that i'm reading right now and i'm debating if i just dnf it cuz it is like really boring but it's my first ever arc ... idk i'm 43% in and just don't want to torture my mental health by this book longer

Soft Nectarine ~ | 487 comments I initially started with arcs from NetGalley but quickly transitioned to author-specific ARC teams. You can reach out to your favorite authors to ask for an ARC directly or get on their ARC team. I joined their author’s reader groups on FB and typically most authors post notices for ARC applications in their FB groups (or their instas and newsletters). I hope this helps!
