How many pages can you read in an hour?

I consider myself a slow reader it takes me around 30 minutes to read 20 pages, so I guess I could read about 40 pages in an hour. Is that considered slow??

No, Molly :) 40 pages an hour is average; the average reader can read between 30 to 60 pages an hour.

I personally read between 35-45 pages. I like to take my time with books, and the faster I read, the less I understand <3

Honestly depends on the book, and if I’m being distracted by my environment, or if I’m tired as heck.

I just timed myself for an hour, reading, “Arcana Academy”, first thing after waking up on my day off, so I’m rested (and thankfully, my migraine has dulled down to just soreness in my shoulders and neck, no longer stabbing me through the base of my skull into the back of my eyeball). And I managed about 55 pages in an hour.

i’ve never actually timed myself, but i know i’m considered a “speed reader” by actually lots of ppl..
and as others have said, it rlly rlly depends on the environment and the book. if it’s a nonfiction, i find myself going slowly and i’d say about 40 pages an hour
and if it’s high paced fantasy (which i’ve only ever read 2 of those and loved them) i find myself going faster with about 80 pages an hour.
BUT there was the one romance book where i felt like i practically read half the book in an hour it was so good
so again it just depends!
