Guys, I finally did the quiz 😅.
I am 80% orange reader. After reading the description I'm not surprised. I 100% feel like those are the kind of books I gravitate toward.

I relate to this. I also read to escape reality.

“You seek books that invite contemplation and inner reflection. Stories that gently probe the depths of the human spirit captivate you, and you cherish narratives that reveal hidden truths or philosophical insights. You find joy and comfort in beautifully crafted prose that encourages you to pause, think, and understand life's profound mysteries.”
I think the quiz read me pretty well. I’m drawn to stories that make me think, and words so beautiful that they make me hurt. My literary preferences can skew too far into the nitty-gritty of humanity, actually. If I need levity—or at least a story that doesn’t call into question some aspect of the natural state of human affairs; a story that doesn’t include a pivotal point who’s loci is trauma—I have to seek out a story I wouldn’t normally chose for myself (for some reason I am averse to cozy media).
Purple is ‘The Unbound Innovator’:
“You crave books that push boundaries and shatter conventions. You're attracted to literary experiments, provocative ideas, and innovative storytelling. Your ideal book challenges your perceptions, fuels your creativity, and breaks free from traditional molds.”
Purple is a bit tricky, as there aren’t many works—at least that I am aware of—that “shatter the conventions” as the article claims. The writings of Mark Z. Danielewski come to mind, such as his most acclaimed novel House of Leaves. For any unfamiliar, the book’s concept is akin to a “found manuscript”, where its multiple stories are woven together through footnotes and an expansive appendix, where are found letters written in code and panicked script diagonal across the page.
I’d say the purple reader label encompasses surrealist writings as well, which, as I've lamented in another post, I’m not sure of how expansive the genre is (besides Japanese and Russian—e.g. Kafka, Gogol—writers). House of Leaves is 1000% surrealist, in both content and format.

Proud of you! I did the quiz a while ago, and have had an unfinished prompt doc pulled up on my laptop for the last week, haha.
I took this at a book-themed slumber party with a group of friends, and most of us got orange or yellow. Makes sense: people usually read stories for the stories. Otherwise there was one other blue reader, and one who scored pretty much equal in everything, cuz she'll read anything. I'm curious about the green and red readers...

60 percent Red.
But Orange won. I like to explore worlds and vivid details.
And this makes sense, even with the nonfiction I read. My favorite nonfiction read so far this year was most definitely was Shadow Divers

This week's discussion will be a bit different. This week we'll be taking a fun quiz to determine what color reader we are. This quiz was recommended by our group member Meg/Ratdaddy.
After you take the quiz let's compare our results 🙂
