Third shift Detective Giselle (Gigi) Dominguez is beaten up by her boyfriend and is in the hospital. Sam rightly hands it off to Gonzo (on his wedding night) on the way to the White House. Could you sympathize with her in this moment given that she would normally rush to the side of her team member?

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2953 comments I didn't sympathize much. Sam would have much preferred to be at the hospital than the White House. That she would prefer to be with her detective than her husband at the most momentous moment of his life said a lot about Sam.

I had a little sympathy as I’ve been in her shoes. But! Everything in this moment should have been all things Nick.

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2953 comments You are so right. Nick should have been her primary concern and the focus of all her attention, and he was, but her reluctance came through loud and clear.

Being at the hospital with an unconscious person cannot possibly be as important and being with your husband for a life changing event. I remember other times when Sam gave an important event of Nick's less than the importance, they were due for him.
