Gen walked into the Avenger lobby as she looked at Leanne, who was behind her, "You wanna come in?" she asked as she gestured to the lobby. "Welcome to the Avenger Tower, this is where most of the children live" she says as she smiled and sat on the couch.
Leanne gasped. "We're allowed to be in here? The Avengers Tower?" She lowered her voice to a whisper. "Where... the superheroes actually come and go? And you live here?"
gen looked at her, "Everybody is in the mission room, you can speak like you can talk" she said as she looked at her, "But, yes I do live here" she answered her question.
Leanne tried to stop looking like a gaping fish. "Does... Spiderman ever come around here?" She dropped her voice again at her last question. (Anyways, don't know if you read her bio, but she has a little crush on Spiderman)
"He comes in through the windows, not doors, that was always suspicious to me" she said as that was true. Gen really had no idea what he even did during the day, "But I do know his sister" she said as she smiled
This was officially the most crazy, and coolest day of her life. She was in the freaking Avengers Tower, for crying out loud, and this girl knew spiderman's sister. "I just... wow. The Avengers. I mean, I've been around Professor X, and some of the other X-Men for a while now, but the Avengers seem a whole new level."
Leanne frowned a little at the question. "Yeah, sometimes, between missions and during training. Your mom is actually the one who initially taught me to gain some control over my powers."
"You what!?" Leanne said, louder than she meant to, before clapping both of her hands over her mouth, getting very red in the face, as many faces turned towards them.
Leanne flushed. "Yeah, she was one of the sweetest people I know... I don't understand how it could have happened but..." She paused and looked down at her hands. "I do know what it's like to have a scary power." She shivered.
"When she gave birth to me, she handed me over to my dad all because of her scary power and yet some I inherited from her. But none from my father, which is just weird, right?" she said as London, Peters sister was coming through she gave a wave to them.
"I don't think so. Maybe your mom's power is dominant? I mean, most superheroes don't even pass on powers to their kids. At least, I don't think so."
Leanne took a step back. "It's almost giving me deja vu to see you use your powers... You look so much like your mom."
Gen looked at her, "I-I do?" she said as she looked at her. "Why do you have powers, Leanne?" she asked as she was still smiling when she said she looked like her mother.
Leanne flinched slightly at the question. "I don't really know. They say it's a gene known as the X-gene that some people just have inside them, waiting to be activated. Neither of my parents have powers, and no one that I know." She let out a shaky laugh. "I mean, I'm pretty much from a nowhere town. Nothing like New York, full of superheroes and villains."
"Why didn't that professor find you like he did with all the other mutants?" she asked as that was a sincere question.
"He did. I spent a while with them, actually, before being sent up to New York. Something about the Avengers and X-Men not getting along, and wanting me to help with that?" She fidgeted with her hands.
"You are being used, it's very obvious, sorry" she said as she looked at her and knew what she was being used for.
Gen nodded, "That's what they did with me when they found out who my parents were, it was always the parents that keep you there, once they know how powerful you can be...they "send" you out to a "mission"
"That's what they did to me..." she said as she exposed the truth of why she at the tower since she was 11. "I came here when I was 11 and they told me that people/students who come from there and were too powerful for them to train...they brought them to the advengers" she said as she looked at Leanne
"I suppose that isn't too bad. So we just... hang around? Let them protect people from us?" Leanne felt tears in her eyes and tried hard to blink them away. " I should've known. Someone with powers like mine could never be a hero."
Gen went to her, "Actually, they won't, they' Abigal Stark knew that runes dampened powers that were to powerful, so that's why I have them." she said as she was leading the way to Abigal's lab. "But you can still become a hero Leanne, the thing is we need to know who your parent is to help you"
"Well, as far as I know, my parents are Melody and Braden Sallow, and they are perfectly normal people living in Palm Springs, California. No powers whatsoever. I mean, one of the reasons they let me come here was because they knew they couldn't help me." Leanne laughed, although it had no humor. "Unless they aren't really my parents..."
"They might not be your parents like you just said" she said as she looked over to the lab, "umm, but I do need to recharge my runes" she said as she looked over to the lab
Leanne followed behind Gen, looking at everything around her. It was all so big and futuristic looking, like something you only imagined or read about. And she was only here because she was dangerous. Because she needed to be controlled. She clenched her hands into fists, fighting that rising anger and sorrow that creeped in at once. "So, how do you 'recharge' your runes?"
Gen looked at her, "Well...I have a pen kinda and that recharges every one of my runes" she says as she reached the lab.
