Nick makes the decision not to run for President at the end of Nelson’s term, citing he doesn’t want to spend a year and a half on the road away from his family. Of course, everyone in the administration is disappointed as well as Graham O’Connor, his mentor. What did you think of his decision?

I agree. Though he wasn’t dying to be President, most of his objections circled back to the impact on her.

He did what was best for him and his family. I'm not sure he ever wanted to be a candidate - he loved being John's Chief of Staff. He didn't really sign up for everything that came after - it just seemed to snowball out of control - Senator, VP and now president.
