Is “If He Had Been With Me” worth reading?

I’ve heard it’s really good and really sad, and I need a sad book rn. I love crying over books. Is If He Had Been With Me a good book to read for the sadness, (and just the plot in general)? Also any other sad but genuinely good book recs are highly appreciated!! ❤️

i personally loved the book! when i finished it i vividly remember starting at the book for a good ten minutes to process everything that happened 😭😭 i still have yet to read the other book

it is SO good.it’s one of my favorite books, and it definitely is sad. i cried for prob an hour after finishing it ngl 😭

I personally have not read it yet. However, considering the fact that my friend sent me a video of her crying, I would say so! She ended up rambling to me about how good it was and how upset she was at the end haha.

theres mixed opinions, ive heard some people who hate it because they dont like the fmc and the writing style, but i personally loved it! definitely would recommend

It is a good read, truly, but I think it is really overhyped. I had such high hopes for it because everybody raved about it and was slightly let down. I would definitely say it's worth reading though.

I personally do not get the hype? I was going into reading that book thinking it would be emotional and would make me cry my eyes out but it did none of that. I was yawning through a good 80% of the book, autumn was getting on my nerves and it had that subtle “not like other girls”. Felt like a quirky wannabe to me. When Finn died, I had a knot in my stomach but even tho I am the most emotional human on this planet, I just couldn’t cry. At one point it felt like I was forcing myself to care 💀😭 I DNF the second book, Finn’s plot was just as annoying if not more 😭😭 anyone who has good taste and sense of awareness about what the character is saying and thinking would not like this book imo.

personally I haven't read the book yet I know this book is amazing as my friend has read it and she gave it 5/5 stars and we read the same things. I am getting this book in a week so I can actually read it. I also have the audiobook but I haven't listened to it yet as I wanted to read the book first. happy reading x
