ella | 2650 comments I have many ideas that I feel like have never been written but I don't think I could ever write a book. it would be cool if someone wrote a book about a highway woman. I feel like it's always the male that's like the dark evil mysterious whatever character and never the female.

Ashleigh | 1 comments Totally agree about nothing feeling original anymore!! However, the worst thing that could happen is that you write a book and it may not feel totally original or ground-breaking, but at least you WROTE a BOOK! It can never hurt to try 💓

If you're good at writing you can be a ghostwriter! Basically, they give you the idea and the main plot and if you like it, you can accept and write the story

beck | 10 comments most "original" writers actually take a lot of inspiration from other works of fiction and even real life events! originality comes from the fact it's YOU writing it and not someone else :) just focus on what you want to SAY when you write, rather than what someone else might want to say !

Kristina Kamaeva | 85 comments I suggest to write a short story first. I really liked a game we played at one writers' site, where all participants received same prompts, for example, genre - urban fantasy, main character - an old man who forgot how old he is, location - a cursed underground forest, and then everyone had to come up with their own story (not more than a 1000 words) First, you don't know how to combine those prompts, but then they help you to focus, and you come up with ideas you would never thought of otherwise :)

Rachel (raychillreadss) | 124 comments Nothing is original... Literally every story written can be connected to either folk tales, greek mythology, or religion. IMO I think a good story is about having readers connect with the characters with their thoughts and actions rather than trying to be original. Focus more on your characters and setting the rest will follow. Happy writing!
