Private Investigator Agatha Raisin has literally tripped into another ghastly murder inquiry. During a village fete she stumbles over the body of an elderly landowner with an arrow in his chest and his trousers down around his ankles. Agatha's arch nemesis Detective Wilkes rules the death accidental believing the man was killed by a stray arrow during an archery demonstration. Agatha knows better and decides to investigate the death as a murder unfortunately making herself the chief suspect in Wilkes' eyes. The victim's family is quarreling over the inheritance making them all highly suspect. When an arrow clearly intended for Agatha hits a dear friend instead, Agatha knows she is on the right track.
Gosh, I have loved this series for years, since 2006 actually. I have done most of them on audio and have enjoyed them all. Some are better than others as is true of most series but Agatha never fails to be amusing, flirtatious, intuitive and a gifted investigator.
