Pretty smart trick with the dime and toothpick in the door frame. If you think you are being followed, this would sure work.

I feel bad for Eddie. He keeps getting these cases he has no choice in taking. He wants his wife and baby girl back full time in his life and so he can't allow his wife to go to jail. (view spoiler)[ The CIA and FBI know this and have got him between rock and hard place. He knows his client is innocent. He is too much of a observant conner to not know people's tells. He has to be able to help them both! Im sure he will use some "special" powers or friends in the end (hide spoiler)]

through 20-(view spoiler)[ This whole thing has to be a setup, maybe even on both sides. His wife's firm is now trying to kill the client in his jail cell. I think even the drunk driving accident that allowed the cops(or whomever) to put the murder weapon in his car was the first part of getting him caught. Don't know why yet, but I am sure Eddie will figure it out. (hide spoiler)]

through 25-sure glad he is such a good slight of hand! Now to save his wife's life....ugh this guy has no luck!

THROUGH 28-(view spoiler)[ Man this guy is good and has a bag of tricks. That was an impressive way to lose a tail. He thinks multiple steps ahead and was able to get the taxi in an accident which would block traffic and allow Christine and Ahmed to get away. Love how the taxi driver was all about finding the tail and helping Eddie save Christine. (hide spoiler)]

THROUGH 62-(view spoiler)[I sure hope they all survive this. Kennedy got lucky last time! I am glad Eddie at least knows that Kennedy isn't the one who tricked him and double crossed them. I love that Lizard is such a badass and continues to help Eddie! And poor Amy. I feel so bad that she hasn't recovered from her previous trauma and now her and her mom are running for their lives, escaping barely even in a plane. And who gets shot in 20 hours exactly? wow, because I've read later books, I'm shocked by how extreme this one is!

I love how he eviscerated the expert AND he got the prosecutor's note in there! lol

the trip to the judge was risky but I love that we got the backstory so we understood why he would go there.

wow, all the dirty people in here - so many of them willing to take money and let something slide. and that they got explosives in them?! Yikes

and now we know there are so many fakes in here. so many questions still!

oh and the story about him getting the bad guy off and that he hurt the girl again. Ugh, that was heartbreaking. (hide spoiler)]

that was an intense ending - a little action movie-ish and felt less realistic but it was definitely entertaining lol
blowing up a courthouse is just crazy!

I can't imagine messing with the mob!

It was nice to read Eddie Flynn's "origin" story - or at least, book 1 so start getting to know everyone that he has that helps him and how he became the lawyer he is later.

but wow, having his daughter stolen is still so wild to me. I can't even imagine how scary that would be and how he kept his cool when she was stolen AGAIN.
