butterfly is back (barely, mostly on insta) (midnightbutterfly23) | -147 comments Right and left arent defined for social only economic but whatever in this case lol

Austin This was interesting
https://youtu.be/NnxLFXvQYKI?si=rghm-...
A new study came out that showed that the left cant map what conservatives believe but the right can map what the left believes

YouTube's not a source...

butterfly is back (barely, mostly on insta) (midnightbutterfly23) | -147 comments Lol youtube has the sources linked
A lot of people are visual learners

butterfly is back (barely, mostly on insta) (midnightbutterfly23) | -147 comments The video discusses the study

butterfly is back (barely, mostly on insta) (midnightbutterfly23) | -147 comments Most people can undeerstand from a video but dint wanna read the source

message 265: by Austin (new)

Austin Yeah the video is like the abstract

butterfly is back (barely, mostly on insta) (midnightbutterfly23) | -147 comments Of course not, the left and right are not very accurate labels, but they are labels nontheless

message 267: by Austin (new)

Austin They were talking about how the left doesnt associate with real right wing people and this has straw-men in their head while many right wing people pretend to be non political and hide their beliefs

soph ₊˚ෆ (semi-ia) 🍉 (depresso_dorogaya) | 966 comments youtube doesn't count as a source, you have to go to the sources that the video listed (if there are any)

butterfly is back (barely, mostly on insta) (midnightbutterfly23) | -147 comments This is deep thoughts topic he isnt making an argumenntt 😭😭😭

message 270: by Austin (new)

Austin The name is in the video in my original post

V3NUS_ (AKA olivia) {BIG HIATUS!!} (hanakothegreat) | 1794 comments wait okay
is this a deep thought?
why do we exist. where do we exist. is there more than the universe than we live in? where are we in this multiverse

message 272: by Austin (new)

Austin Lol tucker carlson with his large duck lips. Ben shapiro with his rhinoplasty. Yes very common in right wing commentators

V3NUS_ (AKA olivia) {BIG HIATUS!!} (hanakothegreat) | 1794 comments AUSTIN DO YOU HAVE ANY COMMENT ON WHICH UNIVERSE WE ARE IN *holds out microphone aggressively*

message 274: by Austin (new)

Austin Lol so an interesting thought ive heard is that if you are religious. Does God exist in every universe of the multiverse? Does he have different plans for each universe?

V3NUS_ (AKA olivia) {BIG HIATUS!!} (hanakothegreat) | 1794 comments Austin wrote: "Lol so an interesting thought ive heard is that if you are religious. Does God exist in every universe of the multiverse? Does he have different plans for each universe?"

there are different 'gods' for each universe, like what I mean is each god (Jesus, regular god, etc.) would probably be changed slightly when you're farther away from your 'home universe' or something. same goes for history, for basically anything. there may be timelines different from ours, such as someone else won the Trojan war or Hitler won world war 2. but there's no definite proof, only theories, so humans aren't sure

V3NUS_ (AKA olivia) {BIG HIATUS!!} (hanakothegreat) | 1794 comments idk if that answered your question or not, but it seems cool

message 278: by Austin (new)

Austin Lol well for one we are not sure that other timelines really do exist.

And another question is if they do exist is there a general trend towards a greater will.

So like the example i give is: maybe there is a timeline where the nazis win ww2 but their brutality is what undoes their own empire leading a different but better outcome than what we have today.

message 279: by Austin (new)

Austin Im happy to discuss other timelines as well

V3NUS_ (AKA olivia) {BIG HIATUS!!} (hanakothegreat) | 1794 comments OOoh that sounds interesting

message 281: by Austin (new)

Austin So for example there is the southern victory timeline:

Essentially the south wins the civil war with help from france and britian to try and keep the US weak.

This butterflies into the union being the side of the central powers during ww1. So the Kaiser never falls and Germany remains an empire. While the union annexes canada.

Which butterflies into ww2 where france and britian are communist while south is fascist. Resulting in 12 nuclear bombs dropped across north America and europe. While japan expands without anyone to stop them. Resulting in the union annexing the south and the southern possessions of cuba and northern mexico.

Then in the 1960’s the US goes to war against the japanese empire. Isolating japan to it’s islands essentially making japan communist and isolationist. While liberating china and making them democratic like russia is.

Then in the 1990’s the US attempts to intervene in south america to smash drug cartels. But the endless southamerican wars and extra cost from the soace race with germany and failing socialist policies at home lead the USA to break apart after a failed coup lead by the NSA and CIA.

Breaking the US into, canada, alaska, quebec. The union, the confederacy, cuba, texas and california.

So in this timeline by 2025 germany is the leading world superpower and india and china and russia are rising powers. While the ottomans are breaking apart and leading to civil war in the islamic middle east.

The euro is the worlds reserve currency and the europeans maintain space stations and a moon and mars colony.

Austin Also some alternate history shows you can watch are:

Man in the high castle: a cold war between the victorious axis

For all mankind: essentially the liberal wet dream of advancing space travel. Lol

message 289: by Austin (new)

Austin Lol i was joking that the show fir all man kibd essentially asks the question. What if we applied 2023 leftist ideology through history and made every choice reflect leftwing ideology. And because the writers are left wing it is all Hollywood happy outcomes

message 291: by Austin (new)

Austin Lol yeah essentially what if we introduce DEI before we finish the civil rights act lol

butterfly is back (barely, mostly on insta) (midnightbutterfly23) | -147 comments That makes no sense, how does one happen befreot eh other?

isn't DEI to help minority groups get equal access to jobs/other necessities? sorry i don't want to sound weird, i just don't really understand the point you're trying to make lol

message 296: by Austin (new)

Austin Lol left wing writers

butterfly is back (barely, mostly on insta) (midnightbutterfly23) | -147 comments Equal? Or greater?

soph ₊˚ෆ (semi-ia) 🍉 (depresso_dorogaya) | 966 comments MidnightButterfly wrote: "Equal? Or greater?"

the definition of DEI says equal
i mean, DEI literally stands for "Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion"

butterfly is back (barely, mostly on insta) (midnightbutterfly23) | -147 comments DEI is an ideology whereby people from "minority groups" are priroritsed over equal or better abled white straight cis males XD

message 300: by Austin (new)

Austin Well equity is not the same as equality. Otherwise you would be using the word equality
