Lol the simulation theory j think is essentially what hinduism and budism believes. Where reality is an illusion and the highest calling we can achieve is to rise above the illusion and reach heaven or nirvana

That actually sounds awesome tho
So because im super into history one of my favorite genres of science fiction is alt history. I think it is fun to explore the butterfly effect and see where it goes. One if my favorite timelines is the southern victory timeline. It starts where the south is able to fend off the northern advance and is able to become it’s own nation. The timeline ends in 2013 where the germans dominate europe and are still monarchist. The austro Hungarians are still around and russia is functioning liberal democracy. While the US took over most of north america and tgen went down the path od socialism and bankrupted itself and broke up into a patch work of smaller nations.
Another i enjoy is the Trotsky timeline. Where Lenin is assassinated earlier and names Trotsky as his heir before Stalin is able to usurp the party. Then in ww2 russia doesnt honor their pact with Germany and attempt to Bring about communist revolution in europe through military means. They are stopped just outside paris and the allies ally with fascists to try and retake europe. Ending in the US and a german dominated europe in a cold war where the US tried to liberate european colonies and the europeans try to hold into their colonies. During this time civil rights ends with extra handouts only being paid to whites and the americans accepting african refugees. Allowing blacks to become the largest voter block in america while due to the distruction of the white family whites get poorer and poorer and adopt more and more fascist ideas. By the end if the cold war and the disillusionment of the reich the republican party is primarily black and the democrat party openly flirts with fascism.

As in, this world is all kind of, God's playground.
And it is actually pretty complex, but put simply you both are right. This is an illusion or is not the real goal, what we achieve in this world, material things, aren't the real goal. But reaching God is. But you reach God through this world, and you can not neglect this world and God's creation and you have duties you need to follow.
So you live in the world, and keep in the back of your mind, this isn't really the main goal. This world is not the be all and end all.

But God is merciful, and you have multiole chances to learn from them. It is why we beleive in reincarnation. But you want to reach God as quickly as possible.
The interesting thing is that the southern victory timeline has a multipolar world order. Barhat and ethopia are in aliience against the ottoman empire and pakistan.
The europeans are against the Russians and Chinese and everyone influences the former US states

This is also a bit of a rant but I thought it was deep so yeah
Sometimes I'm scared of my getting mixed up with reality. My dreams are always very vivid and sometimes I get false memories, recalling things that didn't happen or getting dejavu when something irl is similar to what happened in a dream. I also have a weird fear that everything is just a dream, nothing is real. It's just a really vivid lucid dream. And sometimes that's why I lose motivation to do things (*cough* take care of myself *cough*) because I'm like, what's the point? I don't even know what's real or not. Everything could be fake, just a figment of my imagination or someone else's imagination somehow. And then I wonder if there's
anything beyond this life/dream. Like will I actually wake up if I "die"? Or is there like some other form of living?
In conclusion, what's real? Is everything just a vivid dream? What is reality?

0-0 Super deep one B. I've thought about the whole dream thing as well, but if it helps... if everything's a dream, what's the big deal? It doesn't really matter if life's a dream or simulation or something, because it's still being experienced the same! We'd all still just go about our lives, even if it's all just a dream, because it's real to us
I dunno, that might just be an optimists' outlook on it though

For me, I experience all three when I think: pictures, letters/words, and voices in my head. All my thoughts are like a voice in my mind - my voice, and in English unless I'm specifically trying to think in a different language. And many of my thoughts appear as white letters in my mind, and I'll often see pictures and animations of what I'm imagining and thinking about.
When you're reading in your head, what do you see and hear? Do the words appear in your head? Is there a narrator in your mind? Do you "see" an animation of what's happening in the book behind your eyes? I hear a narration of the book, in my voice, as if I'm reading aloud but it's in my head. I also often see the words in white letters behind my eyes, and can sometimes vividly imagine an animation of what's happening in the book and hear each character's voice in my head. How about you?

No no, sorry, I just didn't know what else to say... Sorry.
So i really hated my time in school and college and i get dreams all the where i am at school or college and im failing a test or didnt study. Butbi have the ability to avid dream or control myself and the world around me in my dreams. So when i get such dreams i remind myself of the fact i graduated then make my dream something else. The field of dream study is really fascinating. I dunno i can avid dream so to me i can tell what is real and what isnt because i dont just fly around like super man in real life lol
So the idea of thoughts is also really fascinating to me. Like we have discovered that langue fundamentally changes the way you perceive the world. For example there has been multiple experiments done where a child is purposely taught no language and they think way slower than the rest of us at that age. Essentially language conveys info. Kinda like pre chewed ideas. So like when a child is born they have nothing in their head. But they are taught many things. Essentially either you learn something through life experience or you are taught it. Either you eat the poison berries and die or hear someone else tell you they are poison and take their word for it.

Yess I find that fascinating. I was just thinking yesterday, if a child was never taught any form of language, how would they think?
So to me i think that is kinda the divide between conservative and progressive.The progressive is happy to discard ideas they see as out dated. While the conservative takes time to understand fully the ideas of the past.
This easily manifests in the ways we differently view history. The conservative view of history is that “we are standing on the shoulders if giants.” Our ancestors spent all their lives to come up with ideas and build things for us. Great architecture, art, monuments, literature and religion. To convey to us ideas it took life times to develop. And when we look back into history we see these ideas and evolve over time.
The alternative view of history is “monkeys killing each other.” Often seen as the marxist or progressive view of history. Where the whole of history is people fighting and killing for recourses, land and women to breed with. And that the only thing that changes over time is the tool we use to kill each other or exploit each other with.
Yeah avid dreaming is the same thing as lucid dreaming
