A deep thought: Do we have as much free will as we think? We can say we like something, like cats for example. You may even be able to point out why you like them, because they're fluffy or something. But if we keep asking why you like it's fluffiness, then why the fluffiness feels nice, eventually, you have to say 'just because I like it'. And maybe you like cats, but not some other fluffy animal. Why is that? What about our reactions to things? There's a famous experiment that can be done where someone's hand is covered, and a rubber hand placed close by. Someone tickles the rubber hand at the same time as your covered hand. And then, a knife is stabbed into the rubber hand, and for some reason, the real hand reacts as if it were stabbed, even if you logically know it wasn't. So, how much free will of thought and action do we really have?
Just my typical shower thoughts haha

I have a lot of historical perspective so because of that i see things a certain way. I was telling my friends that civilizational progress is not a linear line and that not every civilization agrees with what progress looks like.
The idea that in 50 years all of africa will look like america or europe is very outdated and Eurocentric. It is entirely possible we might get a future where some places on earth full reject modern philosophy and technology. Places in africa might become more and more tribal and they might be happy with that. While other places like the US have martian colonies.
I do also wonder if liberalism itself is coming to an end and on its last legs. Fascism a militaristic doctrine lost the war. Communism an economic doctrine bankrupted the soviets. What comes next? Liberalism a decree of human rights fails to secure the innocent and prefers the criminal? Liberalism claiming to represent the people allows in elites who have no regard for the people they rule? It really does feel like we have traded our kings and hero's for traitors and cowards. How many politicians say things that 200 years ago we would hang for treason? How many priests lead their followers astray? How many ceo’s squander their money on abstract concepts? I dont think this is the end of the west. I just think we are starting to see the start of radical change. Im hoping a revival is coming soon.
I do worry that due to tokenism in hollywood and media and entertainment we will see a crack back where things become less and less “diverse.” I do wonder if when globalism falls we see a new world where we trust foreigners less and less. And now that so many pretend to be refugees now, in the future no refugees are taken. I wonder due to terrible criminals being let to walk on the street if we see a return of the death penalty in a big way.
Just musings on the direction of things

Austin wrote: "What do you disagree with mini? Expand your thoughts?"Are we really seeing a rejection? Or are more people goimg to say that the reason we are seeing cinfkict etc is hecause we arent liberal ENOUGH or we arent globalised ENOUGH we arent accepting enoihh as it is
Is the turning point going to mean we turn towards an accelrated version of what we have, kr a rejection?
