Mao question

There is a boy who has a small trio friend group with a girl and one other boy. The girl and boy friend were caught making out a couple of times. Back to the main character, he passed out at his job from doing "whippets" then got sent to live with his father. His father sends him to a rehabilitation group and he found a boy there that he liked and I think they went out for donuts and they kissed. On the cover of the book there were three color bottles of whipped cream. That's all I remember.
