I made the mistake of reading and listening to 2 cozy mysteries at the same time. So I created a Mad Libs review:
In a small town, Michelle runs a chocolaterie associated with a bookshop When a body is found in town, she decides to investigate, assisted by her best friend. That person has a past relationship with the local policeman. (At least it's not the main character and the policeman, which is very common.) Of course, he tells them to stay out or it, and of course they don't. As they do so, some town secrets come out and there are mysterious attacks against her and her property. There is a nefarious corporation in the background. The criminal turns out to be someone totally trusted by the town. The heroine stupidly ends up alone with the criminal (of course) and has to be rescued by the policeman. And there is a stray cat as part of the plot.
