1. TGCF ( this was my first Danmei and ik I'll never forget it 🥺)

3.Jiang Ze Bei novels: GHTFAOD, ICDI

also just wanted to ask I've been seeing everyone talking abt QJJ, is it a short form? if so what's the full version? I've been seeing it everywhere and just wanted to check it out 😅

QJJ stands for Qiang Jin Jiu" (将进酒) and means in English Ballad of Sword and Wine. Afaik it’s originally the title of a Tang dynasty poem by Li Bai and both tell the story of Shen Zechuan.

You are right to be vague about your age, but if you wait long enough there will be no need for ambiguity although you might want to continue being mysterious about it. One does not ask a woman for her age 😊

It seems that you have already read lots of danmei and that you are perfectly placed to be active in this group.

It is difficult to name my top books but at the moment, I think they might include:

- Golden Terrace / Cang Wu Bin Bai
- Stars of Chaos / Priest

Lily!! QJJ is quite long and the political intrigue aspect of the story can be too much for some, but it's a very rewarding read so far! SevenSeas is currently publishing it and the translation is quite nice.

Can't agree more with Sollenbum about Golden Terrace being a top book! I'm still hungover from reading it and haven't been able to find that same rush in another book other than QJJ, so I literally ended up going back to non-fiction for a while. If anyone has recs, lmk! it's my first time posting a comment in a group so i did not know that you can't edit a comment after posting! i'm pretty new to danmei and found this genre via the common route of watching the untamed -> finding out about the books / mxtx -> reading more danmei 😆

i've watched a few cdramas over the years (i usually watch western shows more) and really got into watching cdramas earlier this year and saw the untamed recommended by a tiktok. gave it a go and here i am now!
