If you like fantasy / high fantasy and slow, character driven stories you should try reading Robin Hobb's books !!!!! I read the first book of the Farseer trilogy and it was AMAZING (very slow paced tho)

the lunar chronicles! the fist two books are average length but the last two are over 400 pages!!
