The Rose Arbor, by Rhys Bowen (WWII).

I'm not sure if this qualifies. I've had this book on my bookshelf for a couple of years and have not yet read it, but Kate Morton's books are always solid and it was a GR Best nominee in 2023.
The book alternates between 1959 and 2018. Homecoming: A Sweeping, Intergenerational Epic From the Multi-Million-Copy Bestselling Author

It looks like a post-WWII novel so it works. I've never heard of that one until today, likely because it was originally published under a pseudonym.

to be really honest, I'm not quite sure I'd call that one a mystery/crime/thriller novel ... definitely more of an historical horror novel.

I am slowly working my way through all of Eric Ambler’s works, have read a significant number of them by now. I like that he was contemporary with events of the time, and was very prescient & cleat-eyed about them. His writing is sharp & elegant. A Coffin for Dimitrios is an excellent book for getting to know him and his style.
