I’m starting this today but Tom is home sick and I’m working so unsure how much I’ll actually be able to comment. Will probably jump in more when others start discussing
Ice just started and tbh its so familiar i think ive seen the tv show . Fortunately my memory is so bad that i wont remeber who did it 😄
I’m gonna do one of my rereads instead since I’m having a hard time concentrating. Probably late tonight/tomorrow for me as well.
I made the grave error of yesterday saying we seemed to have a much easier year this year with only one illness. Got that karma instantly! His class has had Influenza A and B, RSV, and Strep throat all this month. His luckily seems to be just a cold but he slept so poorly that he was miserable this morning and I wanted him to be able to relax and cuddle.
This is a cold case mystery so ive just finished the first part (1978) and about to start prt 2 . But may have a bit of a rest and start another. All these students.have nicknames and im getting a bit confused whos eho 😄

Somedays you just need to cuddle. I am excited to start this one (but I hate when the names are confusing, Janine).

I'm so glad you said that because I got so lost so early. Might be one I can't do just audio, or have to create some sort of index of characters

I'm soaking up all the cuddles while I'm sure I can get them. We have terrible sleep habits because he likes to fall asleep holding hands and our pediatrician said we should break the habit but I told him absolutely not. I'll lay on the floor with back pain so long as he wants my affection as I know it's not automatically forever!

Ivy and I had morning cuddles on Saturdays until she was 10 and she still gets me up for her nightmares. I think they know their mamas are there no matter what and that means a lot (and they remember).
In part 2 I will say again (view spoiler)I'm liking this one more than I thought I would. I know it's a mystery, but it's really more of a character driven book and I think I'm more interested because of it. Still get lost with the names/nicknames sometimes...
So the ACC of the new investigation is one of the young bobbies that was there when they found Rosie
Okay, finding a body in a snowy graveyard? Not exactly your average night out. I’m still wrapping my brain around how these guys went from partying to being murder suspects in the span of, like, an hour. I get why the police are side-eyeing them—but also, wouldn’t the real killer be long gone?
Character-wise, Alex feels like the ‘responsible’ friend, but you can tell this whole thing is weighing on him. Mondo’s trying to play it cool (classic), but there’s more going on under the surface. Ziggy seems like the one who’s most freaked out—honestly, same. And Weird… well, he lives up to his nickname, but I’m curious if that’ll come back around later.
I'm ready to get started, but it seems like that won't happen for a bit. Ugh. this is why I like short books.

This in #1 of the Karen Pirie series .Im at 55 % and shes only just come in and said about 3 sentences 🤷♀️
Oh boy. I'm giving it my best shot. I'm probably gonna have to read a bit of each of the ones I have left and take a bit to finish.
I’m almost done and she’s still not a huge role honestly. I like it for the people, and while the mystery eventually picks up I wouldn’t read it for that. But I’m also listening to audio and I think I’ve been occasionally missing things with the accents lol
I enjoyed this. Not my favorite, but a good read. I think the “clues” were heavy handed and it was easy enough to figure out who did it, also Karen is really a nobody in this one so don’t really see how she would tie a series together but I liked Alex and his story which I really think carried this along for me
I’m bailing out of this one and am replacing it with shades of whatever. It’s too long and your comments have not excited me! I’m writing reviews and have plenty of URA authors, so I’m good with points, I think.
I’ll join the other BR thread.

Amanda , as theres only us and youve finished ..not going to bother with spoilers ..but i think its Lawson
FinishesdAm i good, or am i good 😁😁
Im not sure ive read any other books by this author ( saw some Tony Hill on TV ) , not sure ill read any more either tbh .
Looking back 400 pgs was not really needed , i needed my dictionary on standby as not come across some of words used and apparently they not really used in Scotland much either .
TBH the only 'likeable' characters in this were the 4 lads ( +partners) .
Im presuming this is an introduction to Karen Pirie and she'll come more into her own in next book ....but I'll never know 😄
