Lied about reading a book, I think?

Hi, guys. I need to put this out in the world. I want to start off by saying that people misunderstand me so much it's actually funny. I can never put my thoughts into words. Which always leads to unnecessary lies, except I never meant for it to be a lie. When I first got into reading, I read a lot of mystery books. My friends were once discussing AGGTM, and one of us is lying. I had read AGGTM, but I had only seen the show of One of Us Is Lying, so when they mentioned One of Us Is Lying, I was like, OMG, I love it! Then I started talking about the characters (the book and series are very similar). It took me a while to understand that my friends now thought I read the book and loved it. Then one of them started reading it and talked to me about the book. I tried bringing up the fact that there was a show, I don't remember what happened after, but I never clarified myself. Months went by, and the book series was mentioned again. I was too far into the lie, so I couldn't clarify myself now, the opportunity had passed. So I started reading all the other books in the series so my friends never suspected that I hadn't read it and just lied about that. I get myself into these situations too much.

That was me, just in reverse… I read One of Us is Lying, and Dnfed AGGTM, it wasn’t bcs I didn’t like it, it was bcs I got so busy and overwhelmed with stuff that I never got around to finishing it and when the show came out I forgot that I didn’t finish it, and then started talking abt it with my friends and then what you said…
