I don't cringe - but I did lose interest in this series long ago. Even though the best are Grandma and Lila.

A confession: when I was listening to Anthony Fauci’s autobiography recently, he mentions a very eminent colleague, who specialises in critical care particularly HIV/AIDS - whose name is Henry Masur MD. An all-round impressive human being. And what did I have going round my butterfly brain??
I know that some cringe when I say that I love these books. It is like "old home week" for me when I pick the newest one.
The formula of the books stays the same. Stephanie is on the lookout for 3 bond skippers, 2 of them appearing to be quite dangerous men. But, they have high bonds, which means a high return for her.
Grandma and Lula are at their very best in this book and I had a lot of good chuckles. This is one of the reasons I continue to read them. They make me laugh, they are a light-read and quick.
I seem to be on the wrong side though about the ending. It was what I expected and look forward to seeing where it all goes. Some folks, in their review, seem to think this is the end of the series. However, the last three words in the book are Not The End. So, as I said, I look forward to seeing where it goes and will continue to read the series.
