Anybody else find the apocalypse weirdly comforting?

for years I've found the idea of the apocalypse super comforting, i.e The last of us, Hell followed with us, Annihilation, manhunt, Wilder girls, etc.
Is it just me or nah

I fear you're alone in this, what do you mean by comforting? I get random waves of anxiety whenever I think about the apocalypse. Sometimes these thoughts keep me up at night😭 Also, I think you need to rewatch The Last of Us. Have you seen those creatures? Not judging you, though!

I think the comfort comes from getting "accustomed" to the extreme results of a hypothetical situation. It's a way for our brains to aid in our survival, I guess

What? no...no. I find the deaths of people and animals devastating so the idea of an apocalypse itself is in my view a very scary one. You'd have to really hate life, people and animals to find comfort in their destruction.

I find it comforting. I haven't read/watched/played many pieces like that, but i like the idea of finding friend only after the Earth sinks into hell. Like, you know that you will never have these sunny happy days like before the apocalypse, all your dreams and plans are thrown in trash. But now you have friends🤷. Something like that
