I also went "Awww" in my head. He's not my favorite but still, it should have been a fun read.

Well there was fun to be had, to be fair, but I think I was equal parts laughing at and with the book if that makes sense.

Georgann | 314 comments I sure enjoyed this oldie: Powers That Be Powers That Be (Petaybee, #1) by Anne McCaffrey . It held up pretty well!

Distinctly mediocre?

message 65: by Mira (new)

Mira B. | 3 comments I am looking forward to diving into The Lost Kingdom by Bernard Cornwall in March and then later a trilogy from Ken Follet later this year, time permitting! I am finishing a nonfiction book on Anglo Saxon history so should be interesting.

Um... I think I'll get the series for my wife. She's really into historical fiction.

I am in for a treat then! The only thing I was kind of iffy on was the violence. But I always hear great things

message 69: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (michellehartline) | 1089 comments It is violent, no doubt! But he writes truly excellent historical fiction. His Sharpe series is also a favorite of mine.
