This isn't a merge request, but I think it might be something that only supers can do. I know that when there are hundreds of editions that it can take some time to get an edition edition to separate. The thread I am working on has nearly 10,000! The books will not separate for me. It keeps giving me: "This page isn’t working".
They are not popular editions. The most popular of the seven has only been shelved 24 times. None of these should be with the main title as they are pop-up children editions, and not the full book.
Is this something you guys can do, or should I just give up?
Are you trying to separate from the combine page or the separate tool? With books with many editions the separate tool gives very quickly errors, so the combine page might then work better in my experience. For this kind of situations, super-librarians have no extra abilities.
Thank you Renske. I will try that. I loathe all of the print on demands since they are roughly half of the editions. Another quarter are used ones. Since the book predates ISBNs by over a century obviously the majority will not have them. Most should still have some cover. I realize that many will not though, since the cover would have been plain and only the spine showing the title. Until I started became a librarian it never dawned on me how unhelpful a publication practice that was.
