I'd give it a try. there's no real mention of fantasy, but from the names of the places and from the title I get there are fantasy elements, which are really my thing
Definitely, I've been curious since I read the snippets you shared before. I do agree, with @Vittoria that a brief mention of the Fantasy aspect or so forth would help in generating interest for those interested in this genre.
@Vittoria - Yess, it is Fantasy in it. Since there's no romance it's based heavily on the magic side

Question for anyone/everyone. So, in my book (Storms Of Magic) it's based heavily on the magic side as there isn’t romance or anything. With that, I'm 11 chapters in and only briefly mentioned magic on the first chapter. But even then, it doesn't explain anything about the system or anything. Would that bother you? Or downplay your reading experience in the world?
it's fantasy, i'll read it. and abt the magic. magic systems r complex, so i don't mind wading in slowly. js as long as there is building to it, set up & stuff it should be fine. but barely mentioning it will bother me a bit
That sounds like an exciting and intense story! Elena seems like a strong and determined protagonist, and I love the dynamic between her and Ivy. The setup with the Phamor Kingdom adds a lot of tension, especially with Elena’s personal stakes. How much of the story have you planned so far? Are you focusing more on action, politics, or character development?
It depends on how you’re building up the story. If the magic system plays a crucial role, readers will likely expect some explanation or at least more hints early on. However, if the focus is on character development, world-building, or setting up conflicts first, a delayed magic reveal can work—especially if you’re leading up to a big moment where it becomes central.If you’re worried, you could introduce small moments of magic throughout—subtle uses in everyday life, references in dialogue, or minor displays of power—to remind readers that magic is present, even if it’s not fully explained yet. Would you want magic to be something rare and mysterious, or is it common knowledge in your world?

@Anthony Brooks - Thank you! I have the whole story planned out and I'm currently writing chapter 11 of the book! I'm focusing more on action and character development, I'm not sure I'll be able to write good political scenes.
@Anthony Brooks - I will keep that in mind! Magic in the world isnt rare or mysterious. Its common knowledge. Anyone can do magic as long as there is a bleeding wound. If its self inflicted or got in a fight. And thank you very much for your time.

Do not stress that your book is not surrounded by Romance, that does not make a Fantasy good or bad, sometimes the Romance is so distracting that the Fantasy takes a back seat, and I for one would not mind a book totally without romance, also as your main character is a child, lack of romance is not an issue in any way whatsoever. Chapter 11 and ongoing, well done you.

Stating that fact that magic is the norm for your "world" in an offhand way here and there and concentrating on the background story in a world where magic is the norm will not be an issue in a book, but clarity at the start would be great and make the lack of constant mention of magic less dramatic.
