Emmy de Reus (nyneve) | 20401 comments We need an acceptable link to a NON-BOOKSELLER'S bookpage enabling us to check/verify the book's details, e.g. isbn and/or asin, cover image etc. etc.

Alternatively, if you have the book, we can use a scan/photo of your copy of the cover and the page with the publication information, the book's colofon page.
You can upload a scan/photo of your own to the "more photos..." section of your profile: https://www.goodreads.com/photo/new), sectie More photos.. Make sure you state the source of the photo in the text and that your account settings are public (not private).

Jacabaeus (jamcam9) | 215 comments Hi there:

I just want to confirm that Worldcat is NOT a bookseller so it should meet your requirements above. If it does not, can you please tell me what is deficient? It's hard finding any information on a nearly 60 year old book.

However, here is the accession info from the University of British Columbia's copy: https://webcat.library.ubc.ca/vwebv/h...

Mine is the 1968 Macmillan reprint of the 1967 9th edition.

Emmy de Reus (nyneve) | 20401 comments Yes, WorldCat is an acceptable source of information but contais only brief information.

If possible, we want to add the appurtenant cover image and a more extensive book's content description, so if you have the book in possession.... ?

Jacabaeus (jamcam9) | 215 comments If worldcat is acceptable why did you initially say it wasn't? I'm very confused by what I messed up there.

I am not able to provide those as my copy is quite damaged. The information from worldcat and the university listing provided is what I have access to.

Emily | 17621 comments There are a few records of this particular edition, most from third party sellers on amazon, that have imported to Goodreads.

Here is one

If you have a valid source for a cover we can add it.

Jacabaeus (jamcam9) | 215 comments Hi Emily:

if you review those you will note the information does not match what I have provided above so I am confused why you are suggesting them.

message 13: by Jacabaeus (new)

Jacabaeus (jamcam9) | 215 comments I will post a picture of my damaged cover later as you seem set on that.

message 14: by Jacabaeus (new)

Jacabaeus (jamcam9) | 215 comments verso and recto canbe found here:

https://www.goodreads.com/photo/user/...

https://www.goodreads.com/photo/user/...

As you can see, the verso has enough damage that I question its suitability to being used.

Emily | 17621 comments I never said you should use the damaged cover nor was I "set on that" if you were replying to me.

Apparently I should have just posted the links to all of those individual editions themselves, as not every book on the editions list I posted is the one you are referring to, and I guess that was not obvious.

Here's one from that page
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1...
which I did post above, and it appears to match.

There are multiple ones so I that is why I included the page of the editions list that they appeared on after sorting by publication date.

I was just trying to help out by saying that edition is already on Goodreads and don't really understand the defensive tone.

My offer still stands if you find a cover we will add one.

Jacabaeus (jamcam9) | 215 comments My apologies, I accidentally conflated you and Emmy above. I was frustrated after six months of trying to have this addressed and did not double check the user name. I thoroughly apologize for my own rudeness towards you. I hope we can start over and have a positive working experience on this matter.

The edition you have posted has a different publisher - it is St. Martin's Press instead of the PaperMac edition from MacMillan Press I am trying to have added.

I have linked copies of the cover pages that I photographed last night.

Please let me know if anything further is required.

Emily | 17621 comments Thanks. Granted, no one should be rude to Emmy either as she was trying to follow policy and provide straightforward info.

I linked to the wrong one, meant to link to this one.

The information will take a day or two to update due to caching.
Patience is always appreciated as there are not enough librarians to handle the volume of requests.
