Ellen | 3510 comments What is it like to grow up as the child of a serial killer? Chloe Davis and her brother Cooper have lived that life for 20 years now and it has been mentally exhausting. When they were 12 and 15 years old respectively their father was arrested, tried and jailed for the killing of 6 teenaged girls in the area of their small Louisiana town. Now, 2 decades later, Chloe is a psychologist in Baton Rouge, engaged to be married and able to suppress her memories of the past most days. To Chloe's horror, the past has become present-day horror. Young girls are once again disappearing and they seem to have a connection to Chloe herself. Her father is still incarcerated so it is believed that a copycat is at work. Chloe is determined to find out who is killing these girls despite the danger she may be putting herself in. Her investigation leads her in several directions and she begins to doubt her own sanity.

This is a great debut from the author and I enjoyed it very much. At times I thought I knew who the killer was and then I would think it was someone else and then, again, someone else. Willingham did a great job of leading me down several paths. I look forward to her next novel.
