Sammael | 3 comments Well I don't remember the name or the author and it was an really good story that made me think, so I'll be grateful for anyone who maybe knows it.

Its a story about a resort where rich people go. Some of them are old, some are fat, some are sick. They rent bodies of healthy young people and enjoy themselves while young body's owners diet, exercise, take painful medical procedures etc. in their bodies.

Main character is a shrewd old man who is there because of his advanced age. The brain transfer isn't permanent, because after a while it degrades and people have to go to their original bodies. At the begining he meets and seduces a young woman who he assumes is fat in her real body.

As story develops he meets a woman who he is sure is also an old woman in her real body, and plans to escape the resort with his young body, because he knows permanent transfer has been developed.

It turns out woman he got involved with is really a security trying to stop him, he is surprised because she played "old in young body" part really well. He manages to escape.

I hope someone here knows it, because its been driving me crazy for days. Thank you all in advance.

Sammael | 3 comments Thank you Dana, but no, it is an older story. Couple of decades at least.

Peter Meilinger | 469 comments Do you play the game GURPS, by any chance? The basic idea of rich people swapping into younger/fitter bodies was used in the book Gurps Warehouse 23, which was full of weird magical items that would be kept in the kind of warehouse that we saw at the end of "Raiders Of The Lost Ark."

The body swap process was used by people who ran an exclusive spa. Rich, unfit older people could check in and swap bodies with younger, super-fit employees. The older folks then partied in their new bodies while the employees exercised to get their original bodies back into shape. The specific details you give weren't in the game book, though, so it might just be two different writers playing with the same premise.

Are you looking for the same short story as this person? Some suggestions were made in that thread.
