If you didn’t like powerless…explain plz

I’ve seen many people say they didn’t like powerless and I want to know whyyyy. If you didn’t like it that’s fine lol
I enjoyed it and I’m sure others did but this is for the ones who didn’t like it.
Now rant to me why you didn’t like it lol

Everything reminds me of The Hunger Games and it annoys the hell out of me and I only watched the movies.
I was super curious about this book but that's on me for following the hype train, I like the idea of it but Idk if it's the execution or the writing style that's putting me off. I found it to be boring and not engaging. While I like the idea of the book, I don't see myself reading it so soon. I intend to finish it before I form a full opinion of it but I was not enjoying it.

lexi aka newlynova articulates well some of the books problems and her issues with it in one of her vlogs I believe it's the 5☆one. I know alot of people who didn't like it had similar opinions to her id recommend giving it a watch

i had to dnf it bc it reminded me of shatter me and the hunger games too much, among other popular books, and the descriptions of kai and paedyn were almost identical to dorian and manon from tog. its like the author took a lot of books she liked and did a mix without any original thoughts. once again, i only read like half of the first book, so maybe it gets better, but for me the writing wasnt bad, it was just the lack of originality that bothered me and made me stop reading when i realized i was forcing myself to read it bc of the hype

I really wanted too like it, but I had too dnf it. I just reminded me too much of the Red Queen and the Hunger Games.
