What's your favorite of his books?

For me, probably The Wind Up Bird Chronicle and 1Q84... but I've enjoyed nearly all of his books (I've read almost all of them!)

Both are shocking and mind-blowing stories in many ways

Shaikh A | 77 comments I don't know if it's considered weird but it's not what happened by kody keplinger did not make any sense at all

message 69: by Doris (new)

Doris (dorisb) | 104 comments We've Always Lived in the Castle. It was well structured, and obviously included some sort of mental illness, since we're dealing with a type of undiagnosed agoraphobia, plus narcissisms and other issues. It was a good book, but may cause you to watch your relatives closely!

message 70: by Serafina (new)

Serafina Halpin | 6 comments Awake by Natasha Preston. It was about this girl who has parents who are in a cult, and they send this boy to make her fall in love with him, so he can bring her to them. They fall in love and she is the sacrifice or something, and its REALLY weird and not good at all.

Nora (Grayson's version) (noraseed) | 179 comments The dangers of smoking in bed by Mariana Enríquez. It's a book with a collection of abnormal short stories!

message 72: by Swapna (new)

Swapna Nikale | 37 comments Lady Chatterley's Lover by D H Lawrence... Also certain plot of Verity by Collen Hoover and The Vegetarian by Han Kang

message 73: by Kristine (new)

Kristine | 52 comments Next to Heaven by James Frey This book is strange and really poorly written. It is said the author used AI to write it. I hope this is the case and an actual author is not behind this writing.

MY_BOOKISH_ALTEREGO | 9 comments How to be both - Ali Smith (the Albanian translation)
I just couldn't bring myself to finish it.

It was just weird.

message 77: by Kay (new)

Kay Smith Diary of an oxygen thief. it was quite the anonymous book, I read it in middle school and it was just really weird

message 78: by ⋆ Mia ⋆ (new)

⋆ Mia ⋆ | 32 comments Annie John by Jamaica Kincaid - I read this for school and um the main character had some problems and it was overall more than a little quirky. Not saying it was a bad book, just very… weird

message 87: by Megan (new)

Megan (megmez) | 40 comments Crash by J. G. Ballard and The Wasp Factory by Iain Banks were weird and I hated them. They both made me feel gross and sick and I don't care to read anything else by either of them.

I had similar feelings about The Raw Shark Texts by Steven Hall which felt similarly nightmarish. I read it such a long time ago now that I can't remember the details, just how it made me feel. No thank you.

message 88: by Ibi (new)

Ibi (ibi_reads) | 5 comments Pew by Catherine Lacey. It's a good weird though. Unnamed protagonist who barely speaks and a cult. Still don't really know what happened and I read it twice. The perfect weird book IMO

I highly doubt you can get weirder than this. All of the characters are two dimensional figures. Like squares or circles. They can't understand a three dimensional shape like a cube or a sphere. Then one of those appears.
