heyy guyss, so I'll join to the band of my hometown, but I'm struggling in finding an instrument. When I was little I wanted to play the transverse flute and I like the sound until these days. So I was thinking in picking it. However thr conductor says that the band has already six/seven flutes (the ideal is four/five). So he made me try the clarinet and the alto sax. I find the clarinet hard and there's already so many clarinets so that will br disregarded. I tried the alto sax and I liked it, I could play it at first time (which made me inpressed with myself) but I don't love the sound. If I could learn the soprano sax, that would be my choice, but there's only the alto avaliable. I'm already fifteen and I wanted an instrument that I would love for life and that keeps me motivated.
well, I think you shouldn't give up on the flute if you really like it!! if the band really matters to you, you can try the alto and see if you get used to it, but don't forget that you can also play the flute if is your top choice, it just might not be on the band for now 😉
