Deshana (deshanareads) Hi everyone! I'm Deshana. I'm new to this group. I found it when I was posting a Top Ten Tuesday link over at The Broke and The Bookish.

I study Computer Science and I'm starting my Masters in it this fall. So I've got more time on my hands till then to surround and drown myself in books and that's exactly what I'm doing. I've read so many new authors and different kinds of books this summer. I dread to think I will have to remove all of these from my shelves in a few month (and replace them with textbooks!). There ought to be a time-halting capsule to go into for those of us who want to squeeze in ample of book reading time everyday.

I love reading classics, especially Russian and British. Some of my favourite authors are Elizabeth Gaskell, Charles Dickens, Robin Hobb, P.G.Wodehouse, Charlotte Bronte.

Claire (claireoliviagolden) | 1 comments Hi everyone! I'm excited to have found this group! My name's Claire, I'm 19, and I'm a sophomore in college. I'm an English major right now but I'm applying for a creative writing program, as what I really want to do is write books. I've been an avid reader all my life but have lost some of my motivation recently, so I'm trying to get back into reading! I'm looking forward to hanging out in this group. ^__^

Huge Harry Potter fan, and also love Marissa Meyer, John Green, and Shannon Hale. :)

Heather Hi Claire! I'm Heather. :) We have so much in common! I'm 19, I'm going to officially be a sophomore in college when I start classes on Monday, and I'm also an English major who wants to get more into creative writing so I can learn more to get my own books published someday. :D I've always loved reading too and recently I started a blog about books so I can have an excuse to read more and write about something I love. :) I hope we get to chat more!

Chris Hey! I'm Chris, 21, and I am currently attending university as an English major. I love reading a variety of genres but especially like the classics (Great Gatsby, Day of the Locust, A Clockwork Orange, Crime & Punishment, and many more I have yet to read) and graphic novels (my favorite superheroes being Spider-Man and Batman). I also love to write and regularly post reviews of the books I read, good or bad. I hope to make some new friends here with which to share reading recommendations and reviews!

dragon (cuteboys) Hi, just joined. I'm Crimson (or Lisette) and I've been on Goodreads for a couple years now. I'm from Chicago but I'm Zero chicagoan as I've always been sheltered from the city and then I moved closer to Indiana (so yes I eat my hot dog with loads of ketchup and I've not had chicago style pizza before). I'm 24 yo, really old if you ask me, lol. I'm currently a college dropout because financially I just can't afford it but I'd like to change that...soon because I'm not getting any younger

I like to read and I actually run a blog which is lamely called Crimson is Blogging (because I have not even a one creative bone in my body). I just started to work at a theatre this year so I've watched a lot of free movies lately

Right now I'm trying to build myself up again as I had a bit of a breakdown a few weeks back but it's a tad hard as I don't really have people to rely on

Oh! And I found this group via the Broke and the Bookish homepage :)
Nice to meet everyone!

Joy Chalaby | 2 comments Hello all! I just stumbled on this group, & it sounds pretty amazing!

I'm Joy and live in Australia. I'm 21, and am finishing my first year at university doing my BA in English Literature & Ancient History/History - most of the time I'm loving it! I am also trying to fit in as much writing courses as I can as I have a passion for creative writing & writing my own stories & hope to write full time eventually! I love reading good literature (including classics, English & European literature, fantasy & historical fiction, philosophy & history texts :). I love finding "lesser-known" authors & vintage books. Some of my favourite authors are those like Rosemary Sutcliff, Elizabeth Goudge, Patricia St. John & A. J. Cronin, though some of my other favourites also include J.R.R. Tolkien, C.S. Lewis, Daphne du Maurier, Elizabeth Gaskell, Charles Dickens & the Brontes. I love my English degree for giving me the opportunity to really analyse & study literature & expand my mind, though I do confess I miss the joy of picking up a book for the pleasure of it (not required readings!) and just read at my pace without stress. Anyone else struggle with this?

Some of my other hobbies include watching period dramas & good movies/shows, blogging, taking pictures, cooking & doing cross-stitch, colouring/doing art, playing the violin & being involved in my uni chorale :).

Louise d'Abadia | 1 comments Hello! I'm Louise, 22 years old, and I am a 4th year med student in Brazil. I love reading, specially the classics and crime books :) My favorite author is Agatha Christie, but I really enjoy reading lesser-known crime and mystery authors. I hope to make new friends here :)

Charlee | 1 comments Hi I'm Charlee. I'm 23 and from Australia and absolutely love reading and expanding my knowledge, creativity and self-awareness. I'm currently studying Media and Communication Majoring in Public Relations at Swinburne University. In my spare time I help advocate for literacy and education in third world countries and improvement in the education system in first world countries. For anyone under the age of 24, the World Literacy Foundation Youth Ambassador Program is a really good opportunity to join a community of young like-minded individuals from all around the world advocating to eradicate illiteracy and promote education. During the online program you also learn leadership, advocacy and fundraising skills and will have the chance to attend the world literacy summit at Oxford University all expenses paid! Sorry for the shameless promotion but eradicating illiteracy is a cause i'm passionate about :)

Sam (srussel) | 3 comments Hi I'm Sam, and I'm a sophomore at the University of Michigan. I have always loved reading, so I decided to join Goodreads to better keep track of the books I've read, get book recommendation, and meet other bookworms. I'm currently studying Data Science and American Sign Language, and in my rare spare time I like to cook and read, of course. I'm heavily involved in disability advocacy and mentoring young girls in coding. Let me know if you have any tips for balancing reading for pleasure with the endless required reading for classes!

Uriel | 1 comments Hi I’m Ingrid! I recently changed my major to political science and plan on going into international relations once I transfer next year. I’ve always loved books but admittedly I abandon many before I finish them so I’m trying to break that habit this year. I’ve mostly read classics from when I was in high school so I don’t really know what my preference of book genre is, but I’m currently interested in Marie Kondo’s best seller on tidying and a book on architecture, two subjects I’m passionate about!

the grace review ౨ৎ (gracesbooksss) Hello Everyone! I am new to this group!

My name is Grace Foley and I am currently a freshman working towards my BA in English Literature and Writing and a double minor in History and Marketing! My plan is to work for a publishing company but we will see where that goes :)

Something about me? I'm not super interesting LOL! I am the president and founder of the book club at my university which is pretty cool I guess. :)
