My name is Brittney I'm in the United States Army and also in school majoring in Health Care Administration but trying to change that to Social and Criminal Justice with a minor in Forensic Science. I love to read just about anything except for the books I was force to read in high school (blah) I'm married no kids and about to deploy to Afganistan in January maybe sooner. Had a pet but thats another story.
:)

Hello!! My name is Amy, and I go to school in Massachusetts. I am an elementary education major, with a minor in the fine and performing arts. I would love to be a very hands on teacher someday, and I hope I can really inspire my students to read, becuase I love reading.
I am excited to be taking Mystery Fiction Literature this semester at school, as it is a genre that I do not usually read, so I think it would be fun ti try something new. I hope I am not getting in over my head! lol

I'm 18, from Australia and in my 2nd year of Pre Med majoring in Nutrition... so I think maybe i should take up drinking soon anyway ;) haha
It's good to be here and i'm looking forward to some people my own age that actually like reading too :D

I'm 19 and in my third year - out of five - of a Aerospace Engineering program in Brazil.
I love to read and I'm looking forward to the Fall/Winter Challenge - even though it is a Spring/Summer challenge from my point of view ^^

Julia, Aerospace Eng? That is pretty cool.
I wish I had done Eng instead of what I ended up doing.
At least I would have some sort of direction.
Well just wanted to say welcome. Hope everyone is enjoying their current reads.
Will

Welcome aboard.
Hope the reading is coming along and that we see you around the interwebs for some time.
Will

My name is Nick (Voloscire), 23 years of age, and I live in the region Rotterdam, the famous port in The Netherlands. Reading books is one of my great interests. A ambition even, to learn, to know the world and not least of all: To adore the world in all its facettes. I've studies biomedical sciences before and right now I'm in Medical School in The Netherlands, striving to become either a neurologist, internist or pediatrician. Because of my study, I have less and less time for other things like reading or just having a social life in any way. Finding that balance is quite hard most of the time, especially when both friends and books are equally important to you. I don't have a lot of friends who are into reading, so a combination is not possible. Most of them only have read some Dutch (childrens) books, Harry Potter or LOTR.
Other interests of mine are philosophy, sports (mostly running, fitness, handball and chess), science, medicine, politics, cinematography, my friends and love.
What I'm hoping to find here is some great "spirits alike" and people from all over the world. To see if there any great book-recommendations hidden here on this forum, or in the read-list or recommendation-list from some of you. I'm not really sure yet what other great conversations and discussions take place here, but I'm sure that there are.
Hoping to see you around :),
Nick

My name is Kathi and I am from Austria.(But recently I´ve been living in other places a lot too, especially Spain and Italy)
I´m a college student and I study languages (especially English, Italian and Spanish)
I am 21 years old and I love reading.... well of course I like to do other stuff too (like singing, travelling, dancing, etc) but I don´t wanna bore you all too much right away ;-)
So I hope to read from you all soon!

I love reading YA books and am writing one right now.
Nice to meet y'all!

Hope to hear from all of y'all soon!

My name is Jessica, I currently reside in Virginia. I'm a college graduate from the amazing Virginia Tech (Go Hokies!). I got my B.S. in Biology in May of 2010 and I miss it so much. So much so that my boyfriend and I (also a VT Alum) are taking a one week vacation to Blacksburg in little over a week. I can hardly contain my excitement. :)
I've always been a bookworm and my life is incomplete when I don't have the time to read that I would like. Unfortunately, my current responsibilities (family, work, boyfriend, etc.) keep me from cozying up with a PSL (if you know what that is, we're best friends automatically) and a good book for hours on end. However, I'm learning to balance it all and will be found in my new chaise lounge (I have *always* wanted one, so excited) for quite some time.
My genre of choice these days is historical fiction. I'm a huge Diana Gabaldon, Michelle Moran and Colleen McCullough fan. If anybody has great recommendations for historical fiction set in Ancient Rome/Greece, hit me up. I'm always looking for more toga-inspired reading. :)
Other than reading I spend my time with my dog, Moose, my boyfriend, Danny, and watching football. I'm pretty chill and love talking/meeting new people. So good to be here, can't wait to get to know you all!
PS. Obviously, I am NO good at being short and concise. It's a curse/gift.

Other than books, I love chocolate, cats, movies (especially artsy ones), the beach and impressionism ( I'm a huge art appreciator but don't have a creative bone in my body!).
Can't wait to be [art of this group!

that's the story of my life!

Looking forward to meeting you guys!

Hope to hear from you all!!

Hi, Ashley! I'm glad to see that someone else has a weakness for French literature. None of my friends seem to understand that.

Well, that's pretty much it. If y'all want to know more, all you have to do is ask!
Happy Reading!

Wow! I don't know how you find the time to read doing all of that. I never could have done ALL of that while in school. That's pretty great.

French literature is where it is at. It might be better that you don't share that one passion with your friends, some lovers of French literature can be a little unbearable.

Hello, I am Christie. I am so pleased to make your acquaintance and I am really looking forward to getting involved with this group.
Cheers!
P.S. I love books.
P.P.S. I really love reading good books.
...and I can't wait to discuss them with you!
