Stephen Alff (AlffBooks) (alffbooks) | 2 comments Physical books!

I have a few books that have been hanging over me for a long time so I am trying to start the year with those! I have already gotten through 4 such books in the last few days! There are the next 3:
This one will probably take me the longest to read, I might not be in the mood but it has also been there, started, for the longest. I would be happy to even just put a dent in it.
1984

Last year I was the Best Man at my brother's wedding and even though I used this book, I never finished it. This should be a fairly light read and I should be able to get it read quickly enough.
How To Make a Brilliant Best Man's Speech: and support the groom, from the stag do to the wedding

Once upon a time, I started reading this, it is actually quite interesting to see the History of Mathematics in such a pretty book (I own a leatherbound copy). I studied the subject in my last year of university so this will be particularly nice to revisit!
The Math Book: From Pythagoras to the 57th Dimension, 250 Milestones in the History of Mathematics

Wow Stephen, sounds like you are off to a great start with your reading this year! 1984 has been on my list for a while but I admit to being intimidated by it... please feel free to report back with your thoughts!

How special to be best man for your brothers wedding - I hope it was a lovely time!

I love taking my ereader on trips because I'm too indecisive (and too much of an overpacking) to bring physical books in my bag. I just finished Thornhedge yesterday - happy to chat about it if you get to reading it!

Hope you have a great trip!!

Not having to choose what to take is great lmaoo. Hey, what a coincidence! I've seen more than one person reading Thornhedge this past week haha, winter feels like the perfect season to read it. Let me know how you liked it! And thanks, the trip's going great!
