I am going to be listening to St. Francis of Assisi by G.K. Chesterton over the holidays. It's a free choice on Audible, and I was able to find a paperback at the library as well.I don't know if anyone else would be interested, but if so, I'm happy to buddy read it. Otherwise, I'll just do it myself. It's very short, only 4 hours on audio. The paperback is less than 200 pages.
I've always been curious about St. Francis, and having just read our group read by Chesterton, it's a good time for me to pick it up.
I will join you!! I always have trouble finding buddies who want to read Chesteron and I'm thrilled that you've found him and are excited to read more of his works!

I would like to join you for The King of Elfland's Daughter

I'd like to join you. I read a short story by him last year and thought I'd like to try more. It's on Hoopla so I know I can get it anytime.

Sara, is two of us enough to have a buddy read thread set up?

I remember hearing stories about him when I was a child, and would like to know more about him. The short book is on Project Gutenberg and other sites if anyone else is considering reading it.
I'll join in the St. Francis of Assissi buddy read. I too found it on Audible at no extra.cost. I will look for a ebook or print copy too.
Greg wrote: "Great Cleo! I plan to read it sometime within December 22 to December 31...."That sounds great to me, Greg! This is an excellent biography of Chesterton's to start with. In his other biographies, he apparently tends to analyze more than present the person's life history (which some people say they enjoy more. Ha ha!) but Saint Francis is viewed as well-presented as well as insightful. So, I expect it will be a very good read.
Ya, Cynda and Connie that you're joining as well. It will be wonderful to add more voices to the discussion! 🎉

It seems like it would be a great time of the year to be reading about him as well. I've never read Chesterton and have been wanting to.
