What a good idea, Mary Anne. I think I'll do the same. I've read four books by Toni Morrison, but I haven't read The Bluest Eye.
by Lars Mytting, translated from the Norwegian by Deborah DawkinA wonderfully atmospheric and immersive novel by best-selling Norwegian writer, Lars Mytting. This was his first to be translated into English and is one of a trilogy.

Rereading my favorite Tom Robbins novel, Still Life With Woodpecker. His writing sparkles with joy and insight, and he plays with language like no other. Was sad to hear he recently passed.
I read Anxious People by Fredrik Backman; translated by Neil smith. I enjoyed it but not as much as A Man Called Ove. I felt this was just a little too contrived for my taste. My review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I recently finished The Tenant of Wildfell Hall by Anne Brontë and loved it!It is remarkable for its time, covering domestic abuse, alcohol addiction, infidelity, & female agency, and is an early example of feminist writing. I am amazed that the book reads so much like a contemporary novel. It certainly deserves its place as a literary classic.
My Review
I need to remind myself of what is entailed in nominating. I haven't been participating in that part of this group.
Lynn or Gina will post a note when nominations are open with clear instructions. Then, you just send your nominations to them through Goodreads mail. It’s fun to get a discussion going here on a book you have read or want to read. Feel free to message them or me if you have questions when the time comes.
For those of you who enjoy historical fiction, I recommend The Painter's Daughters by Emily Howes. It is about the two daughters of the 18thC portrait painter, Thomas Gainsborough. My review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
