Book Chat 3
Thanks so much for all the continued work in this thread. I can't believe how many Adding New Books & Editions requests have been completed while I was out!

Please, please, please make a languages folder.
The threads keep getting buried and they are so hard to find.
I bumped the Hebrew language up from page 9 yesterday.
And some of them I simply gave up in trying to find after page 10.

Please check if Crazy Bot deleted the hardcover edition.
The Kindle edition is there.

It looks as though the author tried to add the ACE herself, had no idea what she was doing and made a mess. I don't really understand the change log, but it seems as though she just added an edition and used an ASIN instead of moving the ISBN to the new edition.
And there are 8 editions when Amazon only has 3, even if all 3 editions needed an ACE that would only be 6 books.
Here are the links if someone wants to take a look.

https://www.amazon.com/Dark-Obsession...

The last edit was Nov. 18th
After that, the Bot has done a lot of editing there. I would blame it.
I see 8 editions, 6 of which have a valid ASIN.
The second most rated edition, with 24 ratings, has no ASIN or ISBN.
Maybe an ACE was created from there? But I don't see it in the log.
But I also don't see differences between the covers.
I guess I'll have to start thinking about using glasses..

Open since December 2023.
A librarian found a valid link to the book (message 3).
OP replied that was the correct book.
Not sure why librarian didn't follow through and add it.
Hopefully someone here will do it since the request is now 13 months old.

Will someone please add this book?
ISBNs weren't used in the 1950s but the OP posted Abebooks link and I posted the one for Worldcat.

I am not sure if this item would qualify for the database. Apparently it is not part of the magazine, but simply appears on their site.

To me this crosses many lines that aren't clear to me.
From what I see, this is only published in their site, not in book or 'conventional' e-book format. This to me would qualify it the same as a Wattpad story.
The fact that it was used in a theatrical representation is relevant?
In fact, a play is allowed in GR?
Maybe this can help?

I passed this along to David and asked him to take a look.

OP provided all data necessary in their initial post. Cover should have been added from https://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/mali.... It's the publisher page, Barnes & Noble Press, which is an acceptable source for covers and book data.

Which OP didn't provide. Librarians shouldn't have to hunt for covers.

Actually, you are both right.
OP did provide all the necessary info to add the book.
I just saw 'google' and took it as a file shared in Drive.
OTOH, users not providing ALL necessary info is the reason why there are almost 6000 open requests. Instead of taking 5 minutes adding a book, we take 15/20 or more playing Sherlock Holmes.
So it's only natural librarians at a certain point just give up and answer to requests of users who cared enough to give out all needed info.
Edit: corrected wrong information

also, as far as I know B/N is NOT an acceptable source for both covers AND details."
Yes, it is, @Bruno:

"Jaclyn wrote elsewhere: I'm sorry to read about the negative experiences Librarians have had with other members. Please flag these - we do investigate each report."

It's the best action, if we reply we might end up in the mud with the user.
If you allow a piece of advice. I think the first post of the thread should have a clear description of the thread's purpose.
This user clearly didn't understand the purpose of the thread.
Also, it will make a lot easier to kick out this kind of users from the thread.

Meanwhile, since the only time I have ever flagged something is when the spammers are involved I have never thought about what occurs when it is a regular person.
Carol, so that will stay there until support removes it?

It's a shame that some people think it is acceptable to talk like that.
I was actually going to ask someone to combine those books for him, but not now. They can just sit there for a while. Too bad his vulgar typing skills got those poor books punished.

Will someone add this, please?
There were no ISBNs in use in 1969, but the OP posted photos of the cover and copyright page, and I posted a link to Abebooks.

Will someone please fix the last sentence of the description?
Currently it reads "and the fabulous, frustrating ."
Words missing - life of forever being part of a trio.
So, it should read - and the fabulous, frustrating life of forever being part of a trio.
I own this book and that is what it says on the back cover.

Hi
Sorry for late reply - I've been away.
Yes - normally I just flag spammers as well - plus the occasional spoiler filled review. But this one you could see the comment, so I thought it was the way to go.

Will someone, please, go close these requests?
The list is getting very long.

Will resume again shortly ;)

I found the book on Amazon and posted the link, if someone wants to add it, please.

I can't stop laughing at that title!
@Scott - Your expert assistance is needed with this one.
I had to click the back button because I really wanted to say something about what type of request this is.
