I would like to pick Elf Fighter if nobody minds.

Can I be a Dwarf Ranger? (I'm short.) And Vicki - not sure on your question. I think we don't necessarily have to be different classes/races.

Vicki - in Q & A she says we all choose our own race and class. A variety is recommended so we all have different skills to meet task requirements.

I think it's okay. She recommends diversity in what she says in the Q & A but I don't see any prohibition as to what people can choose.

There may be a problem with having two elves on our team. I've been trying to get an answer from Donna in the Q&A section but so far she's not seeing the issue I see (there's only one elf line in the first column on the SS). I have a family event to attend over the next few days, so could use help on following up on this question in the Q&A.

From everything I read in the Q/A I think this answers the question:

Donna: What do you mean elf slot? I have a list of options to the left. Those are not slots. You can read for any race. You choose your task from the dropdown. If your team wants two elves, you may certainly have two.

I should be able to finish my second book in a few more days. How are you doing Vicki and Darkness?

HAHAHAH so I dnf both out my original picks so started new book for elf and I am almost done. For Rogue I wanted something in mind but it too long and I started mm challenge in another book and manga yearly challenge so will look later for another shorter read

I just finished my second book and updated the SS. I think I saw in some other comments that we may be able to use these first two books in the next task, once we're all checked in.

Thanks, Richard. She has 48 hours to respond to your PM. There are no deadlines for turning in quests in this challenge BUT I do expect everyone to respond when your teammates message you. It looks like she doesn't have notify set on this thread or that GR turned it off again.

If she doesn't respond within the 48 hours...your team will have the option to find a new member to replace her. So keep that in mind. I can put a call out for you or you can choose one on your own. Just some options to keep in mind if she doesn't show up.

Hello team and thank you, Richard! I didn't forget about this challenge but for some reason I thought we ONLY had the two books to read during the month of January, so I guess I had to wrong information or confused it with another team. I'm so sorry for not checking in on this thread sooner. I will go ahead and read my book today so we can move forward. I need to find the rules and see why I thought we had the entire month for just our first two books. I always appreciate a nudge from any teammate, so thanks again, Richard!

My notification box is actually checked so if it looks like it's of, it's not. I simply misunderstood our time frame for the 2 books. I'll be sure to check our thread more frequently now just in case the notifications are messed up.

I'm curious if everyone else can only see others' 2024 books in review. I used to be able to see the current year of others' but not since it switched to 2025. Has that changed? Also, I don't like that my books read are now listed vertically rather than horizontally. Is there a way to change that? I feel like once I really get going it's take forever to scroll through to find a book I've read.

My profile shows the 2025 reading challenge at the top right and beneath that is the 2024 year in books. So, can you not see my 2025 books/goal? Did you set a goal for 2025? There is a place to do that at the top right of the Home page.

Yes, I set a 2025 goal and I can see my own, but I can't see anyone else's! So no, I can't see yours. :( And I have no idea who to ask or where to ask for it to be fixed or if maybe it's purposeful for some people or a glitch. My daughter has the same issue. I was hoping it was going to fix in February and that it was purposeful. It's frustrating that I can't see anyone else's. Are you current books listed vertically too?

Yes I checked and only you can see your not other people

Why did they change that? I don't need to see others' 2024 all year long, but I like to see their currently read books to get an idea. Plus, some challenges I've been in require that you read a teammate's book they read based on a date read and now I can't see those as easily. I don't like it. lol

I see what you mean about the vertical list for your 2025 goal. Ugh. You can create a shelf to match your completed 2025 reads and then look at that list under the Books tab and select the viewing option that has four boxes on the top right (ie, not list).

My only answer to the why of it is that the code monkeys think people always want a fresh look to something and can't leave well enough alone. Pet peeve of mine for sure (same as grocery store resets, only more aggravating!).
