On p. 286 Service writes "Jews, Ukrainians, Belorussians and Russians - were deported to labour camps such as Auschwitz where all but very few met their deaths through brutal labour, starvation and beatings."
Auschwitz was an extermination camp, not a labour camp. Why would Service characterize it this way? Why name this camp and then not mention gas?
