An interesting mix, Jackie. I've previously read The Godfather, Roots and American Gods, enjoyed them all. I hope to read The Fireman in 2025.... Enjoy your selections and Merry Xmas.

Lea (leaspot) | 3635 comments What a great list, Jackie. I have read American Gods, Helter Skelter, How to be an Antiracist, North and South, The Fireman, The Godfather and The Woman They Could Not Silence and I enjoyed them all. If we have similar taste, you'll be in for a great year. Happy reading!

Great list, Jackie. Thank goodness I already have quite a few of these on my TBR. Phew!

I am trying a little more NF this upcoming year; so, I am hoping for success.

Good luck and happy reading, Jackie! 📚📚

Glory and the Dream is **MARVELOUS!*** I also liked The Godfather, and Helter Skelter quite a bit.

If you like audio books at all, Glory is a good audio pick. It's 54 hours, but then you can listen while you're doing other things, so there's a tradeoff. :)

Jackie | 1103 comments I do have Glory on Audible!

Yay! Glory was pretty much required reading in our house: my parents gave it to me for christmas back when I was in college, but I never finished it until I got a hold of it on audio many years later. I then immediately gave it to my niece, who also liked it very much.

Bonnie | 705 comments I have actually read (long ago) six of these and loved them all. Modern classics IMO.
