Definitely!! Just know that the first book in the series is the “worst” and the most juvenile. It only gets better from there!!!

Yes. Even if you don't end up liking the protagonist or those close to her, there are other endearing characters that make themselves known throughout the series, so I'd stick with it, especially once you get to Tower of Dawn or decide not to tandem read.
